Phew. You know, there's not really a single book that deals well with all the oddities within the family of orchids. Bob Dressler's book is good for the phylogeny, Northen's book deals primarily with cultivation, MCOS is kind of eye-candy + horticulture, Orchid Fever is primarily about nuts that grow them (an excellent book all around), but I can't think of a single book on all the strange and curious forms that abound.
