I get so tired of the whole "you don't need a bed or any other basic furniture" thing being repeated over and over. Yeah, they are inconvenient to move, but there are ways around that without sleeping on a fucking yoga mat.

A bedframe that folds up flat and comes in various sizes.

A mattress that folds up rather compactly, can be used as seating, and comes in various sizes. Can be padded with a mattress pad and blankets.

Still too much? Get a Japanese style futon.

A desk that can be folded down flat. As a single person, I often eat at my desk.

Or if you don't like to eat at your desk, a collapsible small personal table...just sit on your bed.

They also make collapsible chairs.

I understand the desire to not have much of anything because it's a pain to move, but there's a point where it gets ridiculous. There are ways around it. Yeah, having sex on the floor is better than no sex at all, but I won't be having any sex if I don't get a good night's sleep, and I certainly need at least a few inches of padding more than a yoga mat provides.

The Origami Desk is the one I currently use and I love it. It's not too expensive, has a shelf you can place your desktop below the desk, it's well-made and sturdy, gives plenty of space, and is foldable so its very easy to move from place to place when you need to.

Anybody that is looking for a desk in the barracks I recommend this. I haven't personally bought it, but my buddy has. He has 2 32 inch monitors sitting on it and says it's sturdy for a fold up desk.

A bit of a budget setup, but I am finally extremely happy with it. PC running R7 370 and 1090T. Still handles most games fine on med-high, but hopefully upgrading in about a year.

After the picture was taken I moved the mount about 8 inches to the left. There is a bracket in the middle of my desk that prevents it from being perfectly centered. Any suggestions for what to do next? Mouse upgrade is probably most practical - I've been using a $20 'gaming' mouse for about a year.

Monitor - Found out after I got it that if you keep an eye out it occasionally drops to just over $200.

What are you looking for?

L Shaped 3 Piece - Amazon - $95.99

Transportable/Foldable Desk - Amazon - $161.99 down to $107.95

Wooden L Shaped Desk, Color Selection - Amazon - $129.98

Hope this helps, they're not the best deals but they're what I was able to find on Amazon.

I would highly recommend the Oragami Desks they sell on Amazon for under $90 bucks as a good cheaper alternative gaming desk. This thing is made of solid steel and a real hard wood that I don't think is composite. You can take off the top and fold it up for easy moving in less then five minutes. It easily holds a compact PC case underneath on the right hand side, I just put a wooden board underneath my Phanteks P400S to extend the shelf a bit.

Holds my:
Printer
55 inch tv (with lots of space in front for soundbars and speakers and room behind to hide stuff.)
Printer (bottom shelf)
Ps4 + Xbox one x (ontop of the printer)
Mic boom arm on one side of desk
Monitor arm on the other corner of the desk (This is why I got the desk, because it is very sturdy and can easily hold a 30+" monitor on one arm extended off the side without breaking like my last table)

Love the orbweaver, I'm a Tartarus user myself. As for desks, try this one! https://www.amazon.com/Origami-RDE-01-Computer-Desk/dp/B005MWUQOG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1497803094&sr=8-1&keywords=origami+desk

I currently have two 24 inch monitors across this bad boy, albeit that is the entire length of the desk. Should still be a nice little upgrade for 100 bucks, and it's sooooo easy to move!

I just got this desk a couple weeks ago and am very pleased with it. It's actually very sturdy despite its looks. I have a huge full size tower and even that fits on the underneath shelf portion.

I used to game on a couch and detached the legs from a pc desk and put it on top of a coffee table. It was actually the best setup I ever had. Maybe some day Ill go back to something like that.

Yep, CL is the way to go. Also, Amazon will have some options that are shippable (although not very aesthetic). As an example on the desk front, this thing has worked for the GF and will be a cinch to move:

Hi!

First time here trying to fix something myself.

I have a pretty compact computer desk Origami RDE-01. It used to be able to hold my desktop tower just fine on its side racks, but with my recent upgrade the new case (Cooler Master: MasterBox 5) can no longer stay stably on it, because the case comes with 2 rising "legs" so it's not a flat surface on the bottom.

So I need to figure out a way to extend (in depth) the desk side rack by about 5 centimeters (~1.9685 inches) at a highet of about 11 cm (~4.3307 inches, measured from the surface of the side rack to floor).

Here are some reference pictures of the desk side rack and the computer case.

I do have convenient access to stores like Home Depot (Canada), and have some basic tools (not electrical ones but can rent from Home Depot if necessary).

Any suggestion would be highly appreciated, especially noob friendly solutions (really not handy) :)

Thanks for the advice my friend! That setup you have looks quite nice.

You are correct, the monitors are not identical. The one in the middle is new and slightly larger while the 2 surrounding it are older alienware monitors (10 years old or so I think). I actually went ahead and bought this one last night VIVO Triple LCD LED Computer Monitor Desk Stand. It's not setup to adjust height too much, but it's setup specifically to have one above the other 2 which is what I'm going for right now.

Now I just need to figure out how I want to do my desk as I'd like to get rid of the tempered glass setup and go with a more solid desk that's also easier to move.

I was looking at this one last night as an idea
Not sure how those types of desks are with multiple monitors though.

I love this desk, it was simple to set up and i can fit my 2 24inch monitors on it with extra room on it

Does the signum cable management work with other desks? I currently have this (Origami RD) desk and I want to do something similar.

About 4ft x 2ft, this thing is super sturdy, and has a nice shelf down below to put your case and/or your feet on. I got this one for myself because I work seasonally and move twice a year..this folds relatively flat and you don't need any tools to set it up or break it down.

Edit: I should say, the top of the desk is one, heavy, solid piece that does not fold up. It clamps down onto the base.

u/Siegfoult · 1 pointr/pcgaming

I got this desk, easy to set up and nice space for a gaming computer down below, my full tower fit nicely on the center tray. Last pic shows my setup with it.

It is currently slightly over $100 though.

I think my desk is too high, I'm new to pc and trying to re learn Overwatch on kb & mouse. Do I need to sit higher up to get better at aiming? My chair doesn't go up any higher.

I have this chair and desk: Origami RDE-01 Computer Desk https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005MWUQOG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_1-kizbXE5ANT3

Couldn't find a link to my chair but I would say it's average height chair that is up as high as it will go.

Or do I just suck with kb and mouse because I've used a controller since I was little?? It's incredibly frustrating not being able to move like I need to in Overwatch. Ugh it makes me just want to go back and play it on my PS4. Sorry for the rant but damn it's frustrating
