The two things that I find the most useful for at-home manis are a quick-dry topcoat and a cleanup brush. The topcoat helps your nails dry faster/makes the polish last, and the brush helps with making the manicure look clean. For the topcoat, I would recommend something like INM Out the Door or Orly Sec n' Dry, although I prefer Out the Door since it has a wider brush. For the cleanup brush I would just get a cheap concealer or eyeliner brush to use, like the e.l.f $1 concealer brush or wet n wild eyeliner brush. You would just dip this brush into nail polish remover or acetone and use it to wipe off any polish that gets on your skin. As for general tips, always paint the color on in thin layers (i.e wipe off one side of the brush before applying to the nail) and wrap the tips to help the color last. Hope this helps!
