There are 3 greens used and I do 50/50 mixes inbetween each transition and then a super watered down yellow on the tips. So thats 6 layers. After all that I will usually go back and redo my dark and mid tone really watered down to help blur any leftover specale.

Linked my airbrush below. I dont know if its a good one but it works for me.

I also have a small spray booth and a run of the mill compressor with a pressure control on it.

Well I am by no means an expert but here is what I got:

Paasche Talon TG-3f - It does the job. I am not painting eyes with it, mostly priming, and wide cloak and base colors.

I too had a compressor but needed to grab a Water Trap the compressor I have is super load and not 'made' for airbrushing 'per se'. So I need to regulate the water in the paint.

Then get a bottle of Air Brush Thinner. You can then use any paint you want through it (make it much thinner than normal skim milk painting consistency).

I did pick up some airbrush paints to practice with on cardboard and canvas ... figured the more I use it the better I will get. My intent is to use Vallejo Black/White primer through it. Save me from having to use so many cans of spray paint.

edit Also should mention a couple videos that influenced me/I am using to learn from: Tons of airbrushing stuff later in the video of this BIG resin kit, Tested beginners guide, more resin kit with an airbrush, and just for giggles how to clean it which in my humble opinion is the largest deterrent of the process.

Pretty much. The Eclipse is at the top based on Quality. The beginner level would be the Neo for Iwata or the Badger Patriot 105.

I personally went with a Paasche Talon because it had multiple needles and tips.

I have only had it a couple weeks and works well enough. Clogs more than an expensive brush I imagine but it is enough to expose you to the hobby. Once you feel comfortable you can pick up a Iwata or whatever else. I plan on getting this one in a month or two: https://www.amazon.ca/Paasche-TG-3F-Double-Gravity-Airbrush/dp/B002N0QA9A/

Thanks for the input! I ended up increasing my budget and picked up this brush, and this compressor.

I would check Amazon out. I got a great compressor (with a tank) https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B01F7SXKR4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s02?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I also got the https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B002N0QA9A/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 after the cheap one I got was returned because it was defective. -

If you go with these, you'll need to get a 1/4 male to 1/8 female adapter for the the hose to connect to the compressor.

I'm assuming this is your first airbrush? If so, the Iwata Eclipse may be a bit expensive for a first airbrush. The passche I linked is very good for the price - I would google it as well to do some research.

Yikes...too far LOL. Toronto here. :/

OOOfff...a decent setup will set you back a few hundred...
[Maybe start from here?] (http://www.amazon.ca/Master-Airbrush%C2%AE-Airbrushing-Airbrush-Compressor-/dp/B00BF0MW9G/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1421834817&sr=8-5&keywords=airbrush+compressor) For my setup I do have the following:

[Testor's Mini Blue - bought about 6 or 8 years ago] (http://www.amazon.ca/Testors-Mini-Airbrush-Compressor-Home/dp/B00M7HUKEU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1421835484&sr=8-1&keywords=testors+mini+blue)

[Paasche Talon - bought 2 years ago] (http://www.amazon.ca/Paasche-TG-3F-Double-Gravity-Airbrush/dp/B002N0QA9A/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1421835533&sr=8-1&keywords=paasche+talon)

[Iwata HP-BCS - bought with the compressors] (http://www.amazon.ca/Iwata-medea-Eclipse-Action-Bottle-2001/dp/B000BQKFA8/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1421835581&sr=8-2&keywords=iwata+hp-bcs)

Here's the thing, i do imports because I'm not really into the whole "latest" gunpla...my tastes are...weird to be honest. If the kit looks cool then I get it and usually local or online sellers don't have the kits I get...soooo...yeah. I usually go HLJ or Hobby Search, haven't tried Amiami or Amazon...YET lol. And yes...shipping will kill it unless you want the kit there ASAP, unlike me who has a buttload of backlogs...I can wait when I order and select the cheapest shipping with Tracking.

HMMM...I have a plethora of tools and custom tools that I made myself for specific purposes. For now the sidebar starter tools will get you going for a few years and when you do decide to step-up your skills...then I can suggest more. But if my memory serves me right I spent about $100 to $200 in files, dental tools and sanding blocks, not including sand-paper.
