Somewhere around 2 mine started biting his paci so i showed him it broke and we tossed it. That did not go well so after a few nights i cut the tip on some and explained pacis are broken and i kept cutting it lower and lower but he still wanted to have it for bed thou it wouldn't stay in his mouth lol.
I got the book pacifiers are not forever and within a few days of reading it he stopped asking for the paci, i kept them in his sight ( still cut) and if he asked i gave it to him but reminded him pacis are not forever and he just stopped requesting it. He still at 2.5 loves to read the book and he says "paci in garbage i big boy now" when we read it. I think the book worked perfectly and it was his choice in the end to stop asking for it.
