The entire novel Palimpsest was one mind-boggling sex scene. Yet there is extraordinary beauty to be found in the sick, obsessed, junkie addiction the characters have to getting their next fix: another liaison with another junkie. It's hard to explain, but the yearning that builds throughout the book gets you sympathetic to their addiction to sex. They do it to portal into a world that is unbearable to leave. How cool is that?
