I recommend Paths of Wisdom. It easily explains a bunch of basic Qabalah stuff, specifically as it relates to magic. http://www.amazon.com/Paths-Wisdom-John-Michael-Greer/dp/1870450256/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1395011180&sr=8-1&keywords=paths+of+wisdom

John Michael Greer's Paths of Wisdom is a great introduction.
Having grown up Catholic, I was also initially uncomfortable with the Judeo-Christian seeming elements of the Qabalah. But all of those elements function quite differently in the Qabalah than they do in Christianity. The Qabalistic concept of YHVH, for instance, is VERY different from the sort of thing the Witnesses push.
