Did a Build Update with mainly newer components

Pardon the picture quality I don't know how to use the camera outside of auto.

All of the taobao parts were purchased via superbuy and arrived in roughly 3 weeks.

For $90 I would go with this if your board supports the XMP profile.

You could probably back it down to 3400 CL15 for similar performance at a considerably less price.

u/redflagdealsguy · 4 pointsr/bapcsalescanada

The timings are probably for 3600Mhz. The timings from the actual 3733Mhz Patriot RAM are slightly higher.

I saw these on amazon. It looks like more speed and similar latency for the same price (I believe it will be cheaper if there is a shipping cost with new egg). Is there a catch?

Has anybody purchased the 3600 kit & confirmed it's NOT B-Die?

I bought the 3600 kit 3 weeks ago but never opened it. I jut created my RMA for newegg because, I figure I might as well spend just a little bit more to get true B-Die RAM for a better OC.

Any thoughts?

Maybe I should go with either of these kits?

I'm planning on upgrading my pc, (currently x4 860k with H7 cooler, r7 260x, really bad fm2+ motherboard with 4 USB 2.0, 256 GB SSD, 2 TB SSHD, 650 gold+ evga, corsair 400c, 16 GB of ddr3, a 144 Hz 1080 24' panel and an old 1050p monitor that is super heavy and creates a ton of heat)

Im planning on upgrading the CPU, mobo, ram and GPU. for CPUs I was thinking either 2600x or 2700x (from amazon, because its cheapest there I believe) , mobo the Aorus elite x570 ( https://www.canadacomputers.com/product_info.php?cPath=26_1832_1833&item_id=138844 ) , but im willing to change, for ram on amazon I found a nice 3733mhz kit for 104 (https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B07N43CYMS/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A26PVB3960EU85&psc=1) and in terms of GPU I have a 360$ USD 5700xt which comes with bl3 or breakpoint and 3 months of Xbox game pass. I'm fine with getting a different gpu as long as its equal or better performing, at around or lower price.

My use case, is mainly schoolwork and gaming, but I'm planning on doing very light video editing, but mainly gaming and highschool work. I want to spend as little as possible, for as much good stuffs (budget less than/around 1000) I don't really want to upgrade for the next few years (3) and im mainly thinking that the 2700x and the 5700xt will do just that and because x570 hopefully it will be somewhat future-proofed. Thanks so much, and please tell me if I should change anything, im planning to purchase everything (not the 5700xt though) today/or asap. Thank you.

But it's OOS now. It was on redflagdeals and on this subreddit. It was $115 per one kit of 16gb.

u/mdchaser · 1 pointr/Amd

I've had very good luck with these kits on my two ryzen builds (3900x/x570 meg ace, 3700x/x570 pro-prime):

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07N43CYMS/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I purchased three of the 3733Mhz kits (2x8), one was samsung b-die the other two were hynix cjr (I think, they are c-die). I am able to run all three kits at 3600Mhz without any issues. Before settling on these kits I tried two different kits of 3000Mhz 2x16GB samsung b-die, neither of them would run at stock speed let alone had any overclocking room. So my experience has been to use 4x8GB sticks if you want 32GB, 16GB DIMMs simply didn't want to work. That may change as they sort things with new bios revisions. Good luck!

u/EugeneHaroldKrabs · 1 pointr/Amd

Funnily enough, I bought the cheapest 3733MHz RAM possible. I believed it was going to be Hynix memory until I started using it. Surprisingly turned out to be B-Die. YMMV

Also I'm sure the 1.49V I'm pushing through the memory is helping a lot with the timings. :)

yeah 128 vs 140 AUD for this, what do you reckon?

u/Kherlimandos · 1 pointr/buildapc

I wanna buy it, I just dont know if it's a reliable brand/kit, because their 3733Mhz kit got poor reviews.

u/SignificantTicket · 1 pointr/buildapcsales

Not to TC and if I'm breaking ettiqute here I apologize, but how does this compare to:
https://www.amazon.com/Patriot-Viper-3733MHz-Gunmetal-heatshield/dp/B07N43CYMS/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?keywords=patriot+3733&qid=1567474858&s=gateway&sr=8-1

Specifically for use with a 3rd gen ryzen. Thanks in advance.

u/mythicalbanana · 1 pointr/buildapc

Thanks, though I bought it for its price, not performance :)
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07N43CYMS/?coliid=I2OO0BKBLYOD6L&colid=26IRZ361H6WQA&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it&th=1

My thinking was that if it costs the same as Corsair LPX 3000mhz (In NZ) then it doesnt really hurt to buy, and run @ slower speeds if need be. Kinda hopeful it'll work better with Zen 2 :P
Ill make sure to have it running at under 3600, though, as I dont even think the Carbon AC supports anything higher (Theoretically).

Thanks for all the help, though, really does make this all sound a lot smoother in my head xd

u/jmk3 · 1 pointr/buildapc

You can try 3400MHz C16 Hynix C-die for $111 CAD. I have the 3733MHz version running at 4000MHz C17 CR1 1.4V on Intel. It can also run 3733MHz (sweet spot for Ryzen 3rd gen) at 16-20-20-36 CR1 1.35V.

out of stock though. people are starting to get their orders in so parts are in hand and ready for 7/7.

17-21-21-41. Though I've heard some poeple are having trouble reaching those speeds, so buyer beware.
