I use the Pentel Ain Stien graphite in my Rotring Rapid Pro.

I use B I think, I can check when I get home. It's supposed to be very resistant to breaking, which is what I needed because I often break .5mm graphite when I have to do some fast note taking. I can't even remember the last Ain Stien graphite broke on me while writing.
I don't have a lot of experience with other graphites, so I can't really compare the smoothness. But I really like it and it's much better than the stuff the Rotring came with.
