Fill a Kong with canned dog food or peanut butter, then freeze it. It keeps our dog busy for quite a while. He loves the food but it's also mentally stimulating for him to try to figure out how to get it out- he usually flings it at the floor then scans for bits that fall out.
We also give him a bristle bone, which I would highly recommend. It's good for his teeth, he loves the rawhide bits, and again it gives him something to do. He has gotten ridiculously good at pulling the rawhide rings out so it doesn't last long, but he likes the toy even without them- sometimes he just chews on the ends without the rawhide.
My dog will spend an hour straight chomping on this thing. The rawhides last quite a while, too, so it's not too expensive to keep up.
