If it’s a sliding glass door at the back they make inserts for the mesh part that acts as a doggie door. Here’s one. As well as a cheaper one you can cut into the mesh directly, here. Hope these help :)

It took a little training, but it's great. One of our dogs loves the freedom and will go lay in the sun for long stretches of time. Daphne often only goes out if one of us goes out with her. Especially when it comes to peeing. Dogs are great (cats too). :)
