This was taken from the regular edition box. You can also purchase the Obsidian Edition which includes some extra goodies (both physical and digital).
I thought this would merit its own post since you don't see Tux too often in video game packaging. As always, feel free to keep supporting Linux gaming on whatever format you prefer. :)
Correct, you don't get a box for a PC game, but that's because it's a "one fits all" policy and PC/XBox/PS get all the same DVD case, and since you usually get a Steam key, it's pointless because you can't sell the box with the game.
Some RPGs are still sold with boxes, like Pillars of Eternity 2, where you get some goodies and 3 DLCs for $80
Pillars of Eternity Obsiian Edition
The problem with the SotA CE is that it isn't really a CE - the sticker ruins everything. And putting the soundtrack on the installer CD-ROM is also very cheap - given the addional $100 for the CE, the extra price of maybe $2 shouldn't have been a problem.
It will be interesting to see what the Amazon box edition - which still is not avaiable -will contain. Printed manual? Any goodies?
