I just installed this pioneer head unit and i LOVE it. It's worked great with my smart phone, and its easy to use and you can match the color to the dash lights.

I’m currently using a [Pioneer double din] (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01KKHUBMY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_FkqLAbA1NF1P6) head unit. I don’t use CDs and such so I opted for a full digital media receiver to fit my needs.
All major and most lesser brands offer Bluetooth so it’s not like Pioneer is exclusive. In fact there are a lot that are more feature rich than what I have now. My current head unit was actually a down grade from my previous. Idk if other brands are different but after my experience with Pioneer I wouldn’t put a lot of decision on any apps that are supposed to work with the head unit.
