It pains me to see people arguing for a post-truth society.

Science, by definition, is self-correcting and our best objective assessment of truth at any moment.

It's not infallible, but to argue that it can never be fully trusted is to open the door to the bevy of snake oil salesmen and political con artists suggesting that everyone can construct their own world of truth and ignore people suggesting that there are objective facts that must be dealt with.
