The Pulse Elite headset will work with all three.
It will work wirelessly (with the usb dongle) on PS3 and PC. It won't work wirelessly with PS4 at launch, but they will put out an update to add compatibility. While waiting for the update, you can plug the headset into the controller with the included cable.

u/ModernKamikaze · 8 pointsr/PS3

Pulse

It's wireless but you can connect it to it's wire if you want to.

You plug in a dongle to the PS3, turn on the headset, VOILA! Now wireless.

u/Corrinth · 5 pointsr/PS4

As /u/mrMouseR said, a $20 headset isn't going to give you Dobly 5.1 or 7.1.

I got this headset which has Dolby 5.1, for about $50. But I don't know if it works on PS3. I haven't tested it, I just use it for PC. It's a good headset.

The Pulse Elite isn't $200, by the way. Amazon has it for $120. There's no way I'd think about getting it if it were $200, but I am considering getting it for $120.

As for the features: it does have Dolby 7.1. It integrates with your PS3 and displays status indicators for the headset on-screen. I believe it even has rumble motors in the cups, which vibrate when the controller vibrates.

The only downside I've heard is that the battery life is kinda short.

u/qchto · 5 pointsr/linux_gaming

Well, Ubuntu 16.04 natively supports a DS4, so I assume Mint 18 should also have it.

And about the DS4 audio jack, I've honestly never tried to use it under Linux (and I don't think it works natively at least). But I wouldn't be surprised if someone had get it working somehow.

What I can assure you that work both under Linux and PS4 (and 3) is the Pulse Headset if you ever come across one for cheap (in fact, is the one I'm using in the video linked).

u/jbigboote · 4 pointsr/PS3

your link does not work. I will say I have enjoyed this one. There is a newer version that has more features, and costs more. I haven't used it, but it seems to have overall favorable reviews.

u/Grazsrootz · 4 pointsr/PS4

Here's Exactly what you are looking for. LINK
there are more inexpensive options, but this one is highly rated and comes with the optical cable

And then one of these to convert the Output (RCA) to 3.5mm
LINK

I'm going to be honest with you. By the time you buy this you would probably be better off buying an inexpensive surround souind with an optical input. Sony also makes wireless headphones that are compatible with the PS3 and PS4
I have this one and they work and sound awesome

Elite Version

u/tauntonian · 3 pointsr/GlobalOffensive

Try these: Sony Pulse Elites They're the best gaming headset I've worn. The vibration is set by a sensitivity slider to match the bass of incoming sound. I'm sure with tweaking it can get exactly what you want.

u/elo228 · 3 pointsr/playstation

The official headset has been confirmed to be supported on the PS4,

I have the older model which I'm pretty sure it will be supported but on the tweet or answer on the blog (officially from sony) they mentioned the "Pulse" which is the newer version which is a bit more expensive.

I would buy the Pulse just to play it safe, but I gotta tell you, these headsets are amazing, I have a 7.1 HD surround which is awesome, but when playing late at night this headset is as close as it gets to surround.

I also use it on my pc/mac.

u/sexbobomb91 · 3 pointsr/vita

The ones that I've tried and I was really impressed with were these: http://www.amazon.com/Edition-Wireless-Headset-PlayStation-3-63089006306200/dp/B0087OZ5FG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1371555012&sr=8-1&keywords=sony+pulse+wireless . I know that they are way more than 50$ but it's a good investment if you also have a PS3.

Also tried these ones and they are quite good for their price: http://www.amazon.com/Sony-MDRZX100-BLK-Series-Headphones/dp/B004WODP20/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1371555090&sr=8-2&keywords=sony+mdr-zx100 .

But the ones I use most of the times are the headphones from my Galaxy S3 because I find them to be the most comfortable: http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-EH64AVFWE-Premium-Stereo-Headset/dp/B007C5S3AU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1371555156&sr=8-1&keywords=galaxy+s3+headphones .

EDIT: and straight from the frontpage: http://www.amazon.com/PlayStation-Vita-In-ear-Headset/dp/B006PP3ZK6/ref=pd_sim_vg_20 . Have not tried them but the price is great for an official product.

u/fylian · 2 pointsr/gaming

The Pulse Elite headphones are the best investment esp if you plan to use them with PC and PS3. They're also supposed to work with PS4 but only time will tell. They include a 3.5mm cable as well so you can plug them into anything with a headphone jack. I've had mine since they launched and they are BY FAR one of the best investments I've made. Easy set up (simply plug in the USB dongle to PS3 or PC) and they just work. Plus the rumble feedback is quite neat and adds immersion to any game/movie/music ect that you're playing. Amazon has them on sale now for $120. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0087OZ5FG/ref=redir_mdp_mobile

TLDR: Playstation Pulse Elite headphones are great for PC and PS3. Easy setup and even on sale now.

u/irok11 · 2 pointsr/PS3

You might interested to know about the new pulse wireless headset for the ps3. Essentially a new updated version coming soon. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0087OZ5FG?ie=UTF8&force-full-site=1&ref_=aw_bottom_links

u/alitanveer · 2 pointsr/PS3

Pusle Elite is the best. It also works with your computer.

u/minux151 · 2 pointsr/subdreddit

First, /r/headphones.

Next, THIS thread has a lot of reviews. There was one that specifically dealt with pretty much every major headset on the forum. Look around there, you'll find it.

For ease of use and what not, I personally recommend THESE ones (they can be found for cheaper).

u/kilogttam · 2 pointsr/PS4

There's a new version of those, here. Have them and switching from using them with the PS3 to my PC is as easy as switching the USB wireless receiver, it installs the necessary drivers automatically.

u/TBCMLwacki · 2 pointsr/PS3

Amazon has always had them for $127.00, granted you save two dollars. but I saved a lot more in gas, rather than driving to Best Buy to get a price match.

u/mckinneymd · 2 pointsr/CruciblePlaybook

I grabbed the Sony Pulse Elites that came out before the PS4 but are still for sale.

While they're a wee bit heavy, they're great.

No stupid boom mic, a slider for chat and game audio, good battery life, solid construction, comfortable and decent surround sound. They are also compatible with basically anything with a USB port.

http://www.amazon.com/Edition-Wireless-Headset-PlayStation-3-63089006306200/dp/B0087OZ5FG

u/Lonef · 2 pointsr/PS4

Darn, that's unfortunate; thank you for the heads up! Do you know anything about their other headset, the Sony Pulse? They seem to be the same price but with a different design.

Thanks again.

u/burds · 2 pointsr/xboxone

consider the sony pulse elites. They're intended to be wireless with the playstation, but plug right into the xbox controller adapter and work great. They have amazing sound and mic sounds great too. Also, they rumble and have virtual surround sound.

All that for about $100 on amazon. They are amazing!

u/I-shot-you · 2 pointsr/PS3

DEFINITELY! I have these (Sony Pulse) and I also recently bought the Sony Pulse Elite Edition link. I have had the Sony Pulse since they came out and they have never once messed up or anything. The Pulse Elite are even better, plus you can use the Elite with a phone or simply plug in ANY audio source to the USB dongle and you will receive the audio into the headset wirelessly! Definitely a steal at 50 I paid 104 after tax for mine.

u/jscar · 2 pointsr/PS4

Sony Pulse Elites. I've been trying to decide between these and the Golds.

u/Habieru7 · 1 pointr/PS4

I know everyone likes to recommend the Gold headset but in my opinion the Sony Pulse Elites are far better.

u/YonkeyKong · 1 pointr/DestinyTheGame

I use Sony's Pulse Elite Wireless Headset with my PS4. I have enjoyed it quite a bit; comfortable, has plenty of audio options including a slide to balance between voice and gameplay volume, and the battery life is great.

At Home Sennheiser HD650 powered by Asus Xonar STX

With my smartphone Etymotic HF2

I'm also thinking about getting the Sony Pulse Wireless headset later

u/CutiemarkCrusade · 1 pointr/GrandTheftAutoV

Long after you realized what a ripoff any collector's edition is/long after you realized that having a "V" logo on the side of your pulse elite is not worth the extra fifty dollars, the first DLC will come out and you will wish that you still had those credits.

u/searchingformytruth · 1 pointr/OculusQuest

These? https://www.amazon.com/Wireless-Stereo-Headset-PlayStation-3-63089006306200/dp/B0087OZ5FG/ref=sr_1_2?crid=2QOEWUE77DF0Y&keywords=sony+pulse+elite+headset&qid=1556255035&s=gateway&sprefix=sony+pul%2Caps%2C170&sr=8-2

Given they need a USB port to connect to something, they wouldn't work with the Quest. Unless you're talking about something else. Link please?

Edit: whoops, you answered the comment below mine.

u/[deleted] · 1 pointr/GrandTheftAutoV

For comparison I have the Astro A50's. They are amazing and I can use them for PS3, XBOX and PC gaming.

[These](http://www.amazon.com/Pulse-Elite-Wireless-Stereo-Headset-63089006306200/dp/B0087OZ5FG/ref=sr_1_2?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1380792472&sr=1-2&keywords=mic
) are what I would call mid range, and have excellent reviews.

If you only want a ps3 bluetooth, something like [this](http://www.amazon.com/PS3-Bluetooth-Headset-Urban-PlayStation-3/dp/B005NYK7YC/ref=sr_1_2?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1380794572&sr=1-2&keywords=bluetooth
) would work and has decent reviews for a $25 earpiece.

u/PeachesComeFromACan · 1 pointr/PS4

The Pulse Elite works with both: http://www.amazon.com/Edition-Wireless-Headset-PlayStation-3-63089006306200/dp/B0087OZ5FG/ref=sr_1_10?ie=UTF8&qid=1377231887&sr=8-10&keywords=PS3+headset

Any bluetooth or wired headset will work with a PC given you have the proper adapter, and most will work with the PS4.

Edit Also, thank you for posting in this thread rather than creating a new one :)

u/Greyfeld · 1 pointr/headphones

I've been doing some research on the Steelseries Siberia v2 cross-platform gaming headset (I'm not sure the difference between it and the regular V2 gaming headset, so if anybody knows, I'm all ears), and I'm a little confused about the cord setup.

Currently, I'm running my PS3 through my PC monitor with an HDMI-DVI cable. This wasn't an issue since my previous headset plugged directly into the USB and I had no problem picking up the audio that way.

However, the Siberia connector is USB+3.5mm Stereo. And the PS3 doesn't have a jack for 3.5mm.

So... how exactly would I go about connecting it to my system in order to pick up the audio from my PS3?

If it matters, my monitor is an HP w1907.

u/sub_o · 1 pointr/PS3

No, there's no audio jack, you need to use the dongle. The dongle works with my mac, but I have no idea how to jack it into phones, or tablets.

Btw, Sony is releasing a new version of the headset, called Pulse headset this October, maybe you might want to wait awhile. Here's an amazon link

u/G4mingan · 1 pointr/GiftofGames

If you're not too particular about it and are looking for a wireless setup, I recommend the Wireless Sony Pulse Elite headphones that were designed for the Playstation consoles. I know they're not 7.1, which is what you are looking for, but I really like mine and they work and sound great for both gaming and other applications. You also don't have a boom that comes down in front of your face which can be a nuisance at times. The pulse function, which on the surface seems like a gimmick, really adds and extra element to your overall experience. Think of it as rumble in your headset ala Dual Shock. Really great set of cans that are reasonable for the price.

u/mooseknowsall · 1 pointr/GrandTheftAutoV

I use the Sony Pulse elite edition headset, its not so cheap off the shelf, but i picked a new one off ebay for ~$50. HQ sound, and HQ mic. plus they're wireless. here they are on amazon.

u/bleedsgreen33 · 1 pointr/DestinyTheGame

I use this: http://www.amazon.com/Edition-Wireless-Headset-PlayStation-3-63089006306200/dp/B0087OZ5FG for just about everything. Works with bluetooth or can be tethered with the supplied cord, has an adjustment for Game volume, Sound/Voice balance, and Bass.

They also sound better than the $300 Beats my son has.

u/StellarSpiff · 1 pointr/playstation

Have these. They're awesome.
http://www.amazon.com/Edition-Wireless-Headset-PlayStation-3-63089006306200/dp/B0087OZ5FG

u/ishkabibbel2000 · 1 pointr/gameswap

Is it THESE

u/DoctorWock · 1 pointr/PS4

I have the GTA version of the Pulse Elite, and I've been told how clear I sound by a few people. Great quality headset overall, and the pulse feature is an interesting novelty. Plus, it's wireless.

u/23094823094832098433 · 1 pointr/gadgets

I want one to use at home with my laptop without worrying about the cable, and also be able to take it out on bus rides, mainly for audiobooks and instrumental music. I guess it may have to be bluetooth but I'm not sure. My phone is a blackberry and I guess it will only support bluetooth for wireless use.

Those PS3 ones sound great and are about $50 cheaper on Amazon, but they seem to have some possibly big issues according to the (Amazon reviews)[http://www.amazon.com/Wireless-Stereo-Headset-PlayStation-3-63089006306200/dp/B0087OZ5FG]. How long have you had yours?

u/TwoScoopsofDestroyer · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

>Enjoy hi-fidelity 7.1 virtual surround sound

virtual surround sound =/= 5 speakers per earcup. (center, front, side, rear, and sub)

This headset actually has 4 speakers per earcup. (center, front, side, and sub [plus a vibrator motor, for teh lulz and extra-low frequencies.])

from the specsheet:

>The Rosewill RHTS-8206 gaming headset comes equipped with 8 precise speakers (3 drivers and one subwoofer on each side)

u/ComeHomeAstronaut · 1 pointr/xboxone

If you have the original wireless headset, then no :(
However if you have the PULSE edition (http://www.amazon.com/Edition-Wireless-Headset-PlayStation-3-63089006306200/dp/B0087OZ5FG/ref=cm_cmu_pg__header) or the newer Gold headset, they both have the 3.5mm jack for use on mobile devices, which is how you would plug them into the XB1 headset adapter. Wouldn't be able to use them fully wireless like they can be on PS3 and PS4.

u/lm794 · 1 pointr/Vive

I used these and these on the Vive both with and without the extension, as well as on my bog-standard basic mp3 player both with and without the extension. Also, the extension worked for the first couple weeks of using the Vive.

It's the extension.

u/drkhrse96 · 1 pointr/Vive

I am using the Sony Pulse wireless headset. It has pretty good range and the bass vibration function is like having a mini bass kicker strapped to your head. I bought it when the DK2 came out and have been using it since for VR. Pulse Elite Edition Wireless Stereo Headset https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0087OZ5FG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_Na5kxbNHAH305

u/Ask_If_Ima_firetruck · 1 pointr/headphones

Budget - 100-200$ CAD

Source - Just my PC.

Requirements for Isolation - Some, use at my house only.

Will you be using these Headphones in Public? No.

Preferred Type of Headphone - on/over ear?

Preferred tonal balance - Balenced.

Past headphones - I've used these for about 5 years now. I love them. The sound quality while not perfect, gets the job done. I love how you can control the volume and everything really with slides and buttons on the headset itself. However they are terribly fragile and will break after about 8 months of daily use.

Preferred Music - Electronic. Specifically Pendulum and deadmau5.

What would you like to improve on from your set-up - More detail and something new and comfy.

Thanks in advance.

The only reason I want it, is for the styling though. Just look on Amazon or your preference store for Sony Pulse Headset Elite.

I just picked up the Pulse Elite Edition and it made The Last of Us even more enthralling. I browsed this subreddit and decided to get that one over the Regular Stereo Version as it just seemed to be that much better.

I included the amazon links so that you can do what I did: print it out and take it to Best Buy for a price match (yes, it worked).

I found them from digging around a bit, they're mentioned in this comment from about a year ago.

https://www.reddit.com/r/GlobalOffensive/comments/2pssbo/can_anyone_with_vibration_headphones_help_a/cn04orw

Apparently the vibration sensitivity can be easily increased to match the bass. wouldn't be perfect, but I think it could help.

u/Mistrelvous · 1 pointr/PS3

Hey OP, if your monitor looked amazing but had no sound, all you had to do was buy this headset or any other usb headset for that matter. You didn't have to go out and buy a brand new video output device to solve an audio problem. You just had to plug in a USB headset into one of your ps3's usb slots.

Im looking to step up my audio and started searching for a new headset for my PC. Now i have a high end gaming rig so i started looking into high end gaming headphones. well gaming headsets a re a joke from what ive gathered. so i started viewing other options. i found the 373d, hd650 and a bunch others now the ones that stuck out as top line almost 100% positive reviews was the Philips X2/27 Fidelio. Paired with V-Moda Boompro Mic; will this step up my gaming/music audio or is there a better option out there? Im just so overwhlemed from all the reading ive done seems like everything is running together. I didnt feel i had a need for using the stickied purchase thread since im basically ready to purchase just want so outside opinions. so what do you all think? EXCELLENT setup? Fair? Good? whats your recommendation? Any owners of the Philips X2/27 Fidelio?

Im looking for that in between i game ALOT but im in love with music i think this will be a solid in between i mean im currently using Beats Studio 2 plugged into the headphone jack in the volume control of my desktop speakers Bose Companion 20. I was using Sony Pulse Elite until they broke completly. SO will all that im assuming this is gonna be a win win for me?

u/Baelorn · 0 pointsr/ffxiv

I recommend the Sony Pulse Elite headset to a lot of people. It's pretty awesome and beats out almost every other headset in the price range.
