I have been looking at the same question. The issue I am running into is integration with the critical apps I use. If you are just using Apple Health, it's no big deal. I am using the Polar app family, so the Polar Balance has a lot of advantages from an integration perspective, but it has no body comp capability.
This review in PCmag of 2018 scales suggests the Qardiobase 2 is the best, but it is pretty pricey at $150. How much did you want to spend?
