OBD2 wasn't so bad. I bought an OBD2 extender cable, cut off the connector I needed, then connected the wires the Maestro needed to the correct wires on the OBD2 connector. Threw the other end in the trash and now I have an obviously used OBD2 port (apparently it will freak out if you try and plug in two things at once).
The hard part was finding and tapping all the wires for my car for SW control; not helped by the fact that the directions iDataLink provided for a 2011/2012 CRZ were wrong. Again, your Wrangler will not have this problem at all because it will be a plug and play kit. Only tapping you need to do is for OBD2, and I'd recommend my solution.
I can't speak to how hard going from dash cavity to OBD2 port on a Wrangler was, but on my CRZ it was super easy. A flex grabber like this one made super short work of the problem.
