Some eyeliner pencils are weirdly soft and hard to sharpen to a fine point. The wood it comes in doesn't flake or break off and you have to use a certain sharpener that was made just for that liner. Maybe she was trying to say she doesn't want one like that and instead wants an old school one that's more like a normal pencil. Easy to sharpen to a fine point with most sharpeners and usually cheaper to buy. I'm pretty sure I know what this lady wanted and I can't describe it well, either.
