We've had a few in our lawn - applied these (organic / non-toxic) recently, and they seemed to have done the trick: https://www.arbico-organics.com/category/beneficial-nematodes

Many local garden shops carry them as well, but I ended up mail ordering, b/c i couldn't find anyone that had them in stock.

The recommended sprayer is around $10 on amazon: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01B174GKA/

Just please don't go to home depot and buy some Bayer/Monsanto sprayable pesticide - it'll kill everything, even butterflies and pollinators, worms, other good bugs.

I can only wonder if the dog is bringing this strays scent into the house, although it is speculation, it is a possibility.

This is the stuff I was talking about that I used in my backyard:

Hose attachment:

Liquid disinfectant:

Anytime I notice strays in the area and it affecting my two boys, I typically spray it on the perimeter on the walls and ground.

Good luck.
