I’d say look at crypto mining setups, most aren’t going to be pretty. But the good ones are generally proven to work.
There seems to be a few commercial options that look to be hulking rack mount cases reviews don’t look solid, but you get the idea
For cases / setups that have fans pushing a lot of air at the GPUs I’d say axial cards are better than blowers. Also vertical orientation of the cards should help with heat bleeding from one card to another to a degree.

You are not gona fit 4 dual slot cards into a case with 7 slots.
If space and noise is not an issue, look at mining cases or frames, e.g.

I am thinking about trying 4 to 1 pci risers since the motherboard has less then the desired 8 PCI slots for the 8 cards. How should I set up the 4to1 risers to maximize my chances of success of 8 GPU's on this board? I assume its as you stated above correct? I understand nothing is a sure fire thing, just trying to maximize my chance of success is all. Thanks a lot for all your help.
