I think spectrum provides modem for free? If that is the case, recommend you keep it, it's not the weak link.

Again, I think the weak link is the router. ATT combo modem/router isn't bad, but isn't great, and is apparently better than the sagemcom
Also:
maybe post this in r/homenetworking? I think it's a router issue, not just spectrum's service.
