Fun tidbits I have learned using adobe for some time:

Resolution and color gamut are your top priority for computer art. You probably want at least a 27’ IPS panel with a resolution of 1440p. 4k would be even better.

High viewing angles (170+) are a must for color accuracy.

Adobe retina displays have a gamut of 100 sRGB (the typical color field for digital cameras.) This is a good standard to aim for.

A second, cheap monitor for adobe controls, reference pics, etc is very helpful.

Nvidia is great for gaming, but is not (to my understanding) the best for color recreation. You may experience banding on some higher end monitors. You may want to consider a Vega 56 or 64.

Curved screens are a gaming trend but can play tricks with color. You should opt for a flat panel.

I hope this helps.

This monitor looks good based on specs and doesn’t cost 2k+

For that price of the amazon.co.uk you posted I'd go for a 4K monitor.

IPS: Good viewing angle - bad contrast.
it's not a rule mind you there are many expensive IPS professional monitors out there but you'll spend at least £1.5k

I'd personally grab any these

(it's a VA panel https://iiyama.com/gl_en/products/prolite-x3272uhs-b1/)
Both Samsung and iiyama looks good to me and Viewsonic in third because low contrast ratio (1000:1). Still ViewSonic offers 2160p 60Hz 10 bit which is something to consider; if it's real 10bit i'd say it's a good thing to consider and look for reviews.

For that price I'd avoid the Dell. It's not much different from their P line (Ultrasharp is supposed to be their line for video/photo editing) . It's not bad by any means I have a P 27" 1080p IPS here however it's not ideal for photo editing or anything other than regular browsing and regular gaming

This one here was considered one of the best for picture editing and it's 1440p:

If you're looking to splurge I'd go with this or this. Those are your luxury brands right there.

For a substantial amount less, you could go with this guy, although I can't personally speak to the quality on that brand. I'd also consider this in that range (also it's 32"!).

Cheapest I can find while still adhering to a photo-editing-quality requirement would be this.

And honestly, I think this would be more than suitable for your needs. Get 2.

I Seek Your Advice Kind Friends. My Heart Wants The Expensive LG 34UC80-B (34 Inch, Curved And 1440). But My Wallet Likes The Cheaper Samsung 32" At Costco (Curved And 1080). I Do Not Game, I Develop Websites And Apps. I think I just need help deciding if I'm going to hate the 32". My main reason for an ultrawide is to gain real estate while I simultaneously declutter my desk and ditch the asymmetrical shit show that I currently have going on.

Thanks for the link! I got a ViewSonic VA2265smh monitor (VA panel) in the mail today from amazon, and it is much easier on my eyes than IPS. None of that "staring into a light bulb" feeling. Only 1080p though.

Unfortunately the monitor you suggested is not available in the US (at least not from Amazon). I can find it on amazon uk, they don't ship to the US, but I'd be hesitant to buy a monitor from overseas anyways -

I found a few more than are not sold here in the US. The AOC U3277PWQU (32", 4k):
http://vr-zone.com/articles/aoc-u3277pwqu-new-4k-monitor-va-panel/112925.html

According to this article there's supposed to be a Seiko 28" 4k VA monitor 28U4SEP-G02, but I can't find it anywhere:
http://techreport.com/news/26699/seiki-to-bring-4k-va-panels-to-the-desktop

Samsung sells a 32" VA panel but it's only 1440p:

Dell, Asus, BenQ, LG, and Samsung all seem to be good brands for monitors. You should be able to find something good for $400-$500. If you're interested in 16:10 you're probably looking at a max resolution of 1920x1200 up to 26 inches in that price range. At 16:9 you can find resolutions up to 4K in a similar size. Bump the resolution down to 1440p and you could increase the size.

Here's some decent ones. I'm no expert so definitely look through the reviews for any issues.

Asus 1920x1200

Samsung 32" 2560x1440

Samsung 28" 4K

yep, by default! here is the monitor. need to find a way to go from vga->one of the digital ports. i have a few legit games laying around but might explore some other stuff. mostly want to play some powerstone!

u/paneerlegend · 1 pointr/buildapcsales

Found two close ones without BF discounts though, one’s 32” Samsung but I like the BenQ design much better, even though it’s 27” and both don’t have thin bezels.

Samsung 32” WQHD LED Monitor (S32D850T) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00L3KNOF4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_qL46Bb754DR7G

BenQ 27" 2560x1440 QHD IPS Designer Monitor (PD2700Q), 100% Rec. 709 and sRGB, CAD/CAM, Animation, Darkroom, Low Blue Light, Flicker-Free , 60Hz refresh rate https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01K1INYWG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_DVW6BbRJMAEAT

What do you guys think?

u/EE_108 · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

Any downsides to an oversized non-widescreen monitor?

I have someone willing to sell me a 32" 1440p monitor for $240 ($400+ new).

https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-WQHD-LED-Monitor-S32D850T/dp/B00L3KNOF4

I have a 980ti and don't usually play shooters so I was considering just paying a little more for a 4k tv.

Thoughts/concerns/advice?

u/Flying_Spaghetti_ · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

Does anyone know anything about this VIOTEK monitor? Or the VIOTEK brand in general? Its the only 32" 1440p monitor that doesnt look like it will have really bad input lag. It promises a lot with being 144hz and curved. I was looking at this Samsung and this Asus as well but reviews online say they have ~40ms input lagg.

u/zugi · 1 pointr/Monitors

For work I like two Samsung 32" WQHD LED Monitors (S32D850T) for just over $1000 total. However, if you're looking at < 1ms response time in your LG 24GM77-Bs, you may not be happy with their 5ms response time.

u/kiwiandapple · 1 pointr/buildapcforme

Not a whole lot of options available at that size I'm afraid.

I found this one:

  • Samsung 32" 4K A-MVA for $489
There are a couple of cheaper options, but almost all of these are TN panels and often have terrible or no reviews.

    Hope this helps!
