So, I was curious about the math here.
So, a fun project, not cost savings.
As for the RAM:
The Mac mini 2011 supports up to 16 GB RAM (2 x 8 GB RAM modules). It has two RAM slots, meaning two RAM modules in total will fit in. A higher total amount than 16 GB RAM won't work due to a limitation in the logic board.
The Mac mini 2011 needs RAM that matches the following specification:
PC3-10600 DDR3 1333 MHz, 204-pin
Here are some examples of RAM modules that work flawlessly in the Mac mini:
You may find information online which states that your Mac Mini 2011 only supports up to 8 GB RAM (2 x 4 GB RAM modules), but this is outdated information! As 8 GB RAM modules were not commonly available back in 2012, Apple could only test with 2 x 4 GB RAM = 8 GB RAM. When 8 GB RAM modules became available, users found out that the actual maximum RAM capacity this machine supports is 16 GB RAM, this is also being confirmed by the Amazon reviews of the modules I suggested. Apple never went back to update their info, so the wrong 8 GB RAM figure still swirls around.
Before you upgrade the RAM, check how much RAM is already inside of the machine via the Apple menu at the top left corner of the screen -> "About This Mac".
-----
As for the SSD:
Your Mac mini 2011 supports any SSD that matches the following requirements:
Here are some examples of such SSDs:
Choose a capacity that meets your needs. If you want to keep any of the data that is currently stored on your HDD, I suggest you create a Time Machine backup to some external drive. Once the SSD is in, macOS can be restored via Internet Recovery:
Once macOS is reinstalled, you will be asked whether or not you want to restore from a Time Machine backup during the setup procedure.

This video shows you both the RAM and SSD upgrade procedure, but the iFixit text guide /u/mayhem-8 has linked to is also very good:
What this guy said, my brother bought this ssd and enclosure, he loads in faster than me now and I'm playing on the X.

I'm not very tech savvy, and I got it to work pretty easily. Just put one in the other and use the USB connection in the back of the OG Xbox (side one didnt work). It'll ask you if you want to format it for games. Do that then transfer PUBG over and you're on your way. It'll say you need 256gb, but my 250gb works with no issues.
There's tutorials online also.
There may be cheaper ones out there, but this worked for me. Got the model from someone else on this sub
You don't need any external hard drive, you need a solid state drive (SSD)
I bought this one for my OG xbox and the loot is all spawned every time i hit the ground. Buildings are totally rendered. It makes school very fun: killing kids who haven't had loot loaded in.

You need both parts. Since then 4 of my friends have made the same purchase with the same results. Wish we would have done it sooner
This is the one I use. SanDisk Ultra 3D NAND 250GB, selling for $52.99 right now on Amazon. Paired with the Sabrent Tool-free external hard drive enclosure, selling for $9.99 right now on Amazon.
USB enclosure is a case for a Sata drive that essentially turns the HD into an External drive you can hook up to your computer or in this case your xbox.
Below are the links. These fixed the rendering problems for me. 99% of the time everything is rendered in by the time I hit the ground.

Looks like your laptop series (not the exact model, since you didn't mention it, but most of them are same in this series so there shouldn't be a problem) can support 2 * 1066MHz DDR3 RAM up to 8GB in total so I would recommend you to buy this as RAM. (Don't worry, it says it's compatible with Macbook etc. but it's just because that kind of RAM is more commonly used in these models). As SSD, I would suggest this which I currently use on my PC aswell (HDDs have a common size so it should fit. Not sure if your laptop supports 2 HDD slots tho so if there is no more HDD slot, then you prob. need to swap SSD with that so I would suggest buying a higher storage model like this one.)
All you need is an Internal 2.5" SSD 250gb and a SATA to USB 3.0 adapter/enclosure. This & This should work fine.
Something like this maybe?

I checked, and it seems like the 2011 model had SATA3 enabled via a software update shortly after launch, so you're good there. And like I said, the Samsung EVO is a fantastic drive, but in a 2011 model I wouldn't overspend (unless you plan on pulling it out for reuse in another machine later).
Aye aye lad.
Thanks alot.
I don't think theres an issue with svchost, it happens usually with windows defender/malware stuff hosts that takes alot of usage.
I'm pretty sure those are the only svhosts that takes alot of usage on the disk in certain times, which seems quite reasonable.
So what i ment is that its odd that the disk usage went up to 100% just from google chrome and a svhost :P
Anyways, hopefully i'll soon order an SSD from Amazon.
You say Sandisk Ultra (no mark, just "Ultra") should do the job?

Generally, the main thing which would sit on this SSD is windows, Adobe Premiere/After Effects(Maybe photoshop, i'm not so sure if a program like that really needs an SSD.)
and probably a game or two. Eventually, Adobe's less than 10gb, the games are about 30-40gb. Alongside Windows, i'll probably make it to 90~100 used space, should have enough for extras :D
Anyways, thanks again lad, you are a true savior of pc's.

ahaa this would fit perfectly then
Are laptop/desktop hard drive enclosures different? Is there also any advantage to buying one that’s already enclosed?
Edit like this: SanDisk 250GB Ultra 3D NAND SATA III SSD - 2.5-inch Solid State Drive - SDSSDH3-250G-G25 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071KGRXRH/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_5eSbBb9PSB6DN
And what enclosure?
The best SSD for just under the 100usd price point would be the SanDisk 250GB Ultra 3D NAND, here a link for it on amazon: https://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-250GB-Ultra-NAND-SATA/dp/B071KGRXRH/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1506458917&sr=1-1-spons&keywords=ssd&refinements=p_36%3A1253505011&psc=1
Other option would b for about th same price Samsung 850 EVO 250GB SSD, https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-2-5-Inch-Internal-MZ-75E250B-AM/dp/B00OAJ412U/ref=sr_1_3?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1506458917&sr=1-3&keywords=ssd&refinements=p_36%3A1253505011, which fair about the same as the sandisk one so either one is good for their respective capacities.
I hope that Helped, From Dan.
It seems like it has 4GB of ram, another 4GB should be Maybe $40-$70. Someone said it can take 8GB total max.
4GB is very little.
It has 500GB HDD, a good 240GB SSD is $75, i doubt you’ll need the entire 500GB for chrome etc.

Could make it seem brand new with a windows reinstall and $120
Wait, SSD:
The latter is on sale for today. You should definitely consider spending $5 more for a whole lot reliable, premium storage.
<$60 from Amazon. Installed the 500GB version of this in my PS4 a couple months ago and it’s been great.
