After months of hodling and researching, I just pulled the trigger on this. Camelx3 shows this is the lowest ever for this listing. I saw a lot of deals on RX580 8 GBs lately but I only wanted to go Sapphire. They're arguably the best when it comes to AMD cards. I just didn't have the money for a Nitro+ :/

EDIT: Forgot to mention, I also purchased this via GreatCanadianRebates so might get a bit of cash back too (1.75%)

## Monitor related issues

(Very very helpful, the default resolution of 2560x1080 looks fairly small and at the time I couldn't get higher resolution) https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/anyone-got-the-lg-34-34wk95u-monitor-working-on-hackintosh.264526/page-4
## Things don't work yet:

The monitor has integrated speakers, but for some reasons I have like 6 HDMI audio outputs but none of them work. The audio device of RX580 is also passed to the guest, so I am a little stuck. Any help?

Also, need to figure out Bluetooth.

Finding a <$300 RX 580 8GB on Amazon isn't all that hard?

u/canned_pho · 3 pointsr/Amd

Look at amazon warehouse deals, 20% off on some cards, if you willing to gamble with used.

Returns accepted until February 20, 2020 as well, if the card is a dud.

Some GTX 1660s going for $160 after 20% off

A GTX 1660 is 20% faster than the RX 580

Sorry I've just noticed that your links arent American but instead Australian. I was working those suggestions based on USD > GDP conversion, so my advice doesnt really stand as much as you're exchange rate isnt so applicable. Though I do 100% stand by spending a little extra on your gpu, it will see you well for much much longer rather than you having to upgrade that relatively soon and theoretically blowing the cash you spent on it in the first place.

Hope this helps man

Edit : if you can afford the extra 140 dollars I'd really consider picking up this

https://www.amazon.com.au/Gigabyte-GeForce-Graphics-Windforce-Gv-N1660OC-6GD/dp/B07P76G428/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?keywords=1660+6gb&qid=1562236012&s=gateway&sr=8-4

Or an extra 80 dollars could get you

Which is still significantly better than the 1050ti

Get an AMD Radeon RX 560- 580. They should be good enough for most graphics requirements for your system.

El Cheapo option more inline with your CDN budget:

MSI Gaming Radeon RX 560 128-bit 4GB GDRR5 DirectX 12 VR Ready CFX Graphcis Card (RX 560 AERO ITX 4G OC) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B072J422CZ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_JkjYBb7E1D32B

Cheapest 580 I can find with a really quick search:

One I would buy myself with some more money in the budget:

1080 and 60hz, though my Mboard supports Crossfire and not SLI, so should I invest on AMD than Nvidia? Does it perform better on AMD gpus, i think not.

About the RX580 8gigs, its lower than 1060ti 6gis. I compared these, idk if these are kinda the same? RX580 vs 1060ti

I prefer sapphire, the 8gb model if you can find it. It's probably the best card under $200 atm. You can step up another $100 for a sapphire 5700, that'd be good as well. But this card, the sapphire pulse RX580 is REALLY good. https://www.amazon.com/Sapphire-11265-05-20G-Backplate-Graphics-Graphic/dp/B06ZZ6FMF8/ref=sr_1_24?keywords=vega+56&qid=1571523187&s=electronics&sr=1-24

You want a small motherboard? try GIGABYTE B450 I AORUS PRO WiFi .

I built a Ryzen rig using that motherboard recently. Pair it with a Ryzen 3600, some DDR4-3200 RAM, and any kind of GPU equal to or better than anRX-580 8GB.

If you have the money, you could get anRx-5700xt .

u/MMMTZ · 1 pointr/Amd

I´ve been waiting since September 2018, where I live prices are too high, they sell Rx 580´s for $240 usd and the used market doesn´t exist here, the few people that sell rx 580´s they ask for more than $184 USD (that´s the cheapest one there is).

So I´ll keep on waiting with my 2200g, else I´ll have to buy a 1660 (super) if the 5500 doesn´t release soon, or if it even does, with limited stock

FWIW, for my 5,1 I changed out my Macvidcards flashed GTX980 to a Sapphire RX580 and I've been pleased with the results. However I acknowledge that you say "best for video editing" -- which as grumpy foul mouth posted below -- there are faster alternatives but that require more mods. So for me, "best" means what gets me quickly over the Nvidia/Apple roadblock, to Mojave, and keeping my 5,1 going for a bit longer with minimum hassle and $$. To me pouring cash into a 5,1 doesn't make a ton of sense, but a $200 upgrade for another 1-2 years seems reasonable.

I regularly edit photos in Lightroom and videos in FCP. The change to Mojave is nice (be sure you have the right wifi/bt card) and the speed has been great for my needs. It's not night and day different but it's definitely faster and good enough for my daily work use -- I mostly edit 1080 and 4k from cameras such as the 5d Mark IV, GoPro, Iphone, etc. I admit though, I don't nerd out too much on comparing test scores and I also am not editing 8k raw footage. I looked up various tests and it seemed that the 580 was as good or a bit better than the GTX980, and for my daily pro use it's definitely seems quicker, especially w/ Lightroom as it now uses GPU processing.

Like @ArkadyBogdanov said, the RX580 is the simplest solution AFAIK -- just need the correct power cable (6 pin to 8 pin) and make sure it fits in there w/ your other PCI cards, as it's a bit wider than the GTX980 and similar cards. Mine is in slot 2 which disables slot 3 b/c of its width -- but there it is better cooled as it's not covered up w/ my double Sonnet sata card w/ is now in slot 1 (the bottom slot). I could put the 580 in slot 1 and barely squeeze in the sata card above it, but since I don't need slot 3 the better solution was obvious.

Why isn't this on PCPartPicker?

u/i_bleed_orange_44 · 1 pointr/buildapcforme

I appreciate the lists, guys. In researching it seems like I should avoid NVIDIA drivers and go with Radeon cards. I can confirm that as I have the NVIDIA driver completely disabled to get my setup to work. In light of that I searched around and found these two RX 580-based cards recommended, leaning towards the Asus. There doesn't seem to be any compatbility issues here. Any reason I shouldn't go for one of these? Thanks for helping a noob out.

Yeah, that would be fine. I’d spend a little more and get this though.

u/daniel_trigs · 1 pointr/buildapc

Yeah this is a solid build.

Some recommendations if you can spare an extra $30-$35:

  1. Get a sapphire rx580:

Sapphire Technology Technology 11265-05-20G Radeon Pulse RX 580 8GB GDDR5 Dual HDMI/ DVI-D/ Dual DP OC with Backplate (UEFI) PCI-E Graphics Card Graphic Cards https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06ZZ6FMF8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_THULDb6WS9RMS

  2. Instead of just a 500gb ssd:

-Use a 250gb ssd as your boot drive:

Silicon Power 256GB SSD 3D NAND A55 SLC Cache Performance Boost SATA III 2.5" 7mm (0.28") Internal Solid State Drive (SP256GBSS3A55S25) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075RJS55D/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_FFULDbMQYHMRS

-add in a 1tb hard drive for games and storage:

Seagate BarraCuda 1TB Internal Hard Drive HDD - 3.5 Inch SATA 6 Gb/s 7200 RPM 64MB Cache for Computer Desktop PC (ST1000DM010) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LNJBA2I/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_iHULDbAK7DC0J

I was checking out the MSI 580 Armor OC 8gb but was notified by someone on Reddit that it had sub-par cooling. I was referred by articles and multiple Reddit threads to the Sapphire 580 PULSE OC 8gb and the XFX 580 GTS XXX OC 8gb. To be honest I am kinda overwhelmed by the options and all that people say about each one.

The Ryzen 5 1600 comes with a CPU cooler, so you do not need to buy one.

There is the Vega 56 ($300) which will perform very close to the 2060. The RX 580 will be able to push out 144FPS all on low settings. There isn't much performance difference between the RX 580 and 590, so I would just get the RX 580. Another option is buying a GTX 1070, which will perform in between the 580 and 2060 (closer to the 2060) though. You can get a refurbished one for about $225.

Thanks for the help, I'm going to upgrade the case.

Don't know how much you know about video cards, but is there much of a difference between these two? I bought this one:

https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B06ZZ6FMF8/ref=od_aui_detailpages00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

and realized I could have this one for $8 more (I still could easily swap)

https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B079NX4GCF/ref=dra_a_rv_hp_ho_xx_P1200_1000?tag=dradisplay0c-20&ascsubtag=08e73699045cfa31bcf7dbadfd2130cc_S

I don't see much spec difference. But I don't know enough to truly dig deep and distinguish the two.

The US 4GB version of this card is actually only $10 USD cheaper at Amazon:

https://www.amazon.com/Sapphire-11265-09-20G-Radeon-backplate-Graphics/dp/B071CPJZSX/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1536765686&sr=8-1&keywords=Sapphire+PULSE+RX+580+4GB+GDDR5

However, the 8GB version is $10 USD cheaper than the 4GB card above:

https://www.amazon.com/Sapphire-11265-05-20G-Backplate-Graphics-Graphic/dp/B06ZZ6FMF8/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1536765842&sr=8-2&keywords=Sapphire+PULSE+RX+580+8GB+GDDR5

In Canada though, price difference between the 2 cards is around $50-$70. Not worth that extra amount depending on what your goal is for a setup.

I had a friend tell me I should have waited, since NVIDIA's new cards are launching soon but that's no guarantee of any price drops on their mid-range stuff. Even if the price drops on a 1060, likely only be $50 here in Canada.

Probably same for the 580, I expect the price difference between 4GB and 8GB to always be in that $50 gap.

That's about 700US in Ram from Amazon. It's certainly tempting.

Which RX 580 should I be considering? Found those 2 on Amazon but I'm not sure what the differences are to consider:

The AMD model is RX580 PULSE - which I found at a good price at my local supplier.

How is this model compared to the Nitro+?

u/Beshington · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

I would advise looking at either a RX580 or a GTX 1060 or RTX 2060. I wouldn't recommend getting anything lower because then your would have to change settings and stuff.

Secondly, is the card you are choosing has a version with higher VRAM, you might want to pick that. (RX580 4G be RX580 8G) a lot of games need the extra memory and will load faster, won't stutter as often and will be able to use higher quality shaders compared to a lower VRAM card.

Also if you are going for a Nvidia card, you are going to want to buy a EVGA card. They have very good warranty and have overall the best support and rma I have used in my life.
You can search Google for them and mostly all you find will be people praising them lol.

If you are going to buy an amd card, you should look into sapphire. I don't have experience with them but all I've heard has been extremely good.

Overall, I think the best card you can get would be this

Good luck and hope you find what you need. If you need any help on anything you can PM me or use reddit chat. GL bro!

DisplayPort is fine - so long as I can get the 60hz. I've been looking at This card, but I can't find where they say it does HDMI 2 or not.

My one "monitor" is a 4k tv, so I'm assuming I can just get an adapter if I plug from DisplayPort - there's no loss in signal or quality doing that right?

I am currently typing this on my 2009 cMP. I tried to upgrade my GPU to that XFX Radeon 580 XXX one on Amazon I think you're talking about and it was clearly refurbished and had a different graphics card's BIOS flashed to it. It caused me nothing but problems so I instead bought this Sapphire 11265-05-20G Radeon Pulse RX 580 8GB GDDR5 Dual HDMI / DVI-D / Dual DP OC with Backplate (UEFI) PCI-E Graphics Card Graphic Cards now down to $200 and it works perfect. I highly recommend it if you want 4k @ 60Hz in macOS and video games in win10. It works directly OOTB (still no boot screen) and Sapphire brand cards are the brand recommended most by Apple. I also upgraded my CPU to the x5690 which has provided, IMO, even better performance improvements if you were thinking about that as well.

Looking for the best value for a graphics card to pair with an i7 3770K for BOTW Wii U and eventually Switch emulation on linux, with some GC and such thrown in too. Have been using the iGPU as I haven't been gaming on PC for a couple years. I don't want to spend more than 300 bucks, ideally more like 200. 60 FPS would be nice if possible but not essential, and I would definitely like to pump up the internal resolution for a 1080P monitor better than the original consoles can do.

What do you guys think is a good value? I was looking at this RX 580

u/BrianAMartin221 · 1 pointr/macpro

I can find a pretty cheap 580 but the biggest issue I would have and I know this is straight

Right now my 750 card had 3 regular display ports. The 580 I see has 2 and 1 DVI and 2 HDMI.

I like having the same connection for all 3 displays so the resolution is identical.

Am I a being to OCD?

Is the card I might order.

Hows this? Another thread on r/pcgaming told me that sapphire was the best amd brand. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06ZZ6FMF8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_BzYmDbVFS9VZB

If I were buying today, I'd lean towards this, which should be plug-n-play: https://smile.amazon.com/Sapphire-11265-05-20G-Backplate-Graphics-Graphic/dp/B06ZZ6FMF8?sa-no-redirect=1

No problem!

In my opinion this is probably your best bet

Sapphire 11265-05-20G Radeon PULSE RX 580 8GB GDDR5 DUAL HDMI / DVI-D / DUAL DP OC with Backplate (UEFI) PCI-E Graphics Card Graphic Cards https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B06ZZ6FMF8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_hPloDbHCPJPE4

Combines a good looking backplate, and 8gb or vram to future proof your build at a decent price as well

Good luck with the build anyway!

no i dont the psu is that good, ive never heard of thermaltake as a psu before and i think there is no warranty use this psu https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-Warranty-Power-Supply-100-N1-0650-L1/dp/B01LYRXRDI/ref=sr_1_6?keywords=650W&qid=1563055611&s=electronics&sr=1-6 . And, the 3400g and https://www.amazon.com/ASRock-B450M-Promontory-CrossFireX-Motherboard/dp/B07MV9BMNY is a pretty good combo together and get this gpu from sapphire amd https://www.amazon.com/Sapphire-11265-05-20G-Backplate-Graphics-Graphic/dp/B06ZZ6FMF8/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=rx+580&qid=1563055995&s=gateway&sr=8-3 its $10 cheapr so that it will fit your price range. And, the motherboard supports crossfire so vega 11+ rx580 and you can probaly get it cheaper used. Lastly, you may need a bios update and get a bootkit from amd to upgrade it
