For monitors, you'll want 1080p (obviously) and something as close to a hundred bucks as you can get, as large as a screen as you can get up to 27 inches.(beyond 27 inches, things start to look bad at 1080p) From personal experience, if you can swing it GET A MONITOR WITH A BLUE LIGHT FILTER. e.g. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0773ZY26F/?tag=thowisguy-20 , you are going to read on this monitor for LONG HOURS and watch a lot of videos, and your eyes WILL get tired. Also put a small light behind the monitor when you are working in darker rooms, as this will serve as something called "Bias Lighting" and prevent eye strain even further. (Note: You are going to have to turn off the blue light filter to look at histology slides, but you shouldn't have to do that ALL the time unless you are going to school for histopathology or something idk.)

Two monitors sounds good, but its expensive , and you already have a macbook, its really a lot easier to get a bigger desk.

I don't know much about keyboards or mice, so I don't feel qualified to say really, maybe others can help you out.

Whatever mouse you end up getting I recommend it be wireless, as the wire can wear out easily ( as well as your patience) with extended sessions (trust me I know)

Also, if you really are going to medical school, I would suggest investing in noise cancelling headphones down the line, they are a GAME changer, and let you study in many more environments than a library.

Good luck kid, hope to see you on the front lines someday.

Hey, The_MonBear,

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Ffhb3b Will provide you with a PC that is compatible with and without your hypothetical 980TI, and will also have an SSD in case the one you use for your Xbox does not have matching connectors or SATA ports (don't know why, but some add-ons are strange and are incompatible with certain setups.) It also provides a setup that is very clean are cable-management friendly, as I have friends who have used this case in similar mid-range builds.

If you want, I included a reliable Flash drive for transferring files and booting a copy of windows off of.

If you need to have a more in-depth guide on your building process that uses near-identical components t this PC, I recommend Joey delgado's Ryzen 5 2600 build ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=98ujnl1_hW0)

The 580 and the 980Ti have very similar performance outputs, but depending on your budget and your card type, buy a free sync monitor (AMD GPU but about +$50 per 60/144/240 Hz increase) or G-sync (Nvidia but a ~$200 + every 60/144/240 Hz upgrade)

A 1440p 144Hz monitor would not fit in your budget, as it would make your build $1100+ save it be some very unreliable purchases. If you want any monitors I have a few I'd recommend:

1080p 75Hz: https://www.amazon.com/Sceptre-E248W-19203R-Monitor-Speakers-Metallic/dp/B0773ZY26F/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?keywords=1080p+to+hz+monitor&qid=1556595028&s=gateway&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1

1080p 144Hz: https://www.amazon.com/BenQ-Response-Equalizer-Vibrance-Adjustable/dp/B01H5KKQTM/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=1080p+to+hz+monitor&qid=1556595028&s=gateway&sr=8-3

1440p 60Hz: https://www.amazon.com/BenQ-GL2706PQ-Black-Gaming-Monitor/dp/B06XDQ2RRQ/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=1440p+60hz&qid=1556595119&s=gateway&sr=8-1

You can use windows without a product key, you just will have a watermark in the right-hand corner of the screen at all times. if you NEED a product key, I recommend you use a reputable site that someone else or yourself may research, otherwise you just have watermarked windows with fewer customization options.

Hope you find this build guide very helpful!

Size doesn't really matter much since you can always move the monitor closer to your face if necessary.

If you're doing video or photo editing work, I'd suggest picking up an IPS monitor like this $90 22-inch AOC I2267FW for better color reproduction.

If you'd prefer a larger size monitor, there's also a single 24'' monitor available in your budget range, the $98 Spectre E248.

24 Inch Monitor

32 Inch Monitor (Curved)

20 Inch Monitor

They arent the most crisp monitors in the world, but they certainly get the job done. The only curved one is the 32 Inch.

I've been researching monitors and my friend sent said she's been using this one for years. The only issue is that it lacks IPS Sceptre E248W-19203R 24" Ultra Thin 75Hz 1080p LED Monitor 2X HDMI VGA Build-in Speakers, Metallic Black 2018 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0773ZY26F/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_y95SCbR8BFVJY

I would recommend this monitor. https://www.amazon.com/Sceptre-E248W-19203R-Monitor-Speakers-Metallic/dp/B0773ZY26F/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1528159055&sr=8-2&keywords=sceptre+24+inch

Its also 75hz, but it is $85 less. I would also recommend going with a dedicated GPU and no APU at all, because they cost slightly more. Just get a good CPU. I would recommend the ryzen 1500x, they have literally the same performance but this is $13 less and it is overclockable. I overclock to 4.0 GHz from 3.7.

https://www.amazon.com/AMD-Processor-Wraith-Cooler-YD150XBBAEBOX/dp/B06XKVNRSM/ref=sr_1_3?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1537388958&sr=1-3&keywords=ryzen+1500x

The motherboard is also somewhat expensive, I would recommend this one. It is $45 less and does the exact same stuff. I am not sure why the other guy suggested the more pricy one, but if you like the style then go for it.

I will add more info later, Please read this whole thing and if you have any questions ask me. I have built 3 PCs.

They aren’t great... in fact, the best thing about them was the price. Lol.

Apparently this one is okay. Only $100.

I have an AOC monitor myself and I like it. This is about $110.

u/[deleted] · 1 pointr/MLBTheShow

I use this one https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0773ZY26F/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_6uvADbKHKFAD2

5ms response time. Most people recommend 1ms, but this has been fine for me. I've made WS every season

u/zenthrowaway17 · 1 pointr/buildapc

Just a suggestion here.

Switched a few things around to fit in a larger SSD, faster RAM, as well as a 1060 6GB.

EDIT: Just noticed, you could also get a larger, 24" monitor for about the same price if you wanted.

Something like this one. That one's also 75Hz instead of 60, which is a nice bonus.

There’s no way this is going to run 1080p 80FPS max but it’s the best you can do with your minimum requirements and budget.
