Both of those watches are hardly what I'd call 'big boy watches'. Frankly they look really low quality, fragile and with expansion bands they will not be comfortable. Sorry if that's kinda harsh but in terms of watches less is often more and something really gaudy (especially that cheap) just looks like trash.

There's no shame in being on a budget, especially when you're just getting out of college, but you're much better off with something a little more subtle, like an easy reader. That's understated enough that it'll look good casually or when dressed up (and it's dirt cheap). Timex expedition and weekender are also nice but are perhaps more casual than what you're looking for. If you really want something dressier the Seiko 5 is a really high quality automatic watch for the price.

Edit: To answer the second part of your question, watch should usually match your belt and shoes (especially if it's brown or black), with black looking more formal. Silver watches go with just about anything.

As a clarifier of what tesoro said:

  • "hardened mineral" is pretty much the cheapest stuff on the market. You won't expect much more out of a $50 watch, but the upgrades are sapphire or hardlex (which start at watches around $100).
  • 3 atm water resistance means NOTHING. I would be careful washing your face while wearing it, and don't even think about taking it in the shower.

These are the same specs as the weekender. In addition, there's no mention of lume. 40mm face with this design will throw it in the ring with the rest of the gaudily large fashion watches nowadays.

How does this beat a $60 watch with lume, automatic movement, and 20atm water resistance rating? or a $65 watch that comes with a bracelet?

For twice the price of the weekender, are you really getting a whole lot more with this?

I'd avoid plastic/rubber and go with a metal face and metal and/or leather band. A good example would be this Seiko 5, only $60 on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Seiko-SNK793-Stainless-Steel-Automatic/dp/B002SSUQF6

Hey, the one you chose is nice, but check this little guy out:

It’s blue, good pedigree, sometimes goes as low as 75 bucks, and is a solid choice as well.

Descriptions with links

  1. Moleskin mini-notebook.

  2. Zebra F-301 Bold: Notebook and pen get dropped into my shirt pocket. On weekends, whether they come along is completely dependent on whether my shirt has a shirt pocket.

  3. Seiko 5 SNK793: Just got this last week actually, but I really like it. I had a Hamilton Jazzmaster before and, while a quality piece and I love the style, the case was just too big/heavy for my liking. I found myself wearing my Timex weekender on a NATO strap more and more. This has a very similar case size, although slightly thicker/heavier due to automatic movement. Something classy/understated enough for work.

  4. Maratac Copper AAA: I really love this thing. This is not the newest version (rev 3), so it only has low/high, but that's all I really need. Feels very solidly made, I have dropped it numerous times and it has nary a mark. Despite the exterior being solid copper, it isn’t as heavy as I thought it would be and I never even notice it in my pocket, even in dress pants. I leave the clip on so I can set it on my desk/counter and not have it roll off, but often don’t bother to clip it to my pocket. Sometimes I’ll clip it to my coin pocket in jeans but usually just leave it in my right pocket with my keys. I don’t know what to say other than that I really love this thing.

  5. Leatherman Squirt ps4: Very small, disappears into my pocket. Even in dress pants at work, I don't feel this weighing them down at all.

  6. Keysmart with 2 apartment keys: The rivets tend to come loose, which is a little annoying. May throw some Loctite or something on the threads to keep them be. Otherwise, I like it.

  7. Nexus 4: Love this phone. No intention of getting rid of it anytime soon. Unless they come out with a phone that will bake me cookies or dispense coffee, the only reason I'll move on is that this one dies.

  8. SOG Fielder: SOG Fielder. Just like guns, black means you obviously want to kill people but any kind of wood stock/handle means you probably just have it for utility. /s I actually really like this knife. Very classy, feels good in the hand, good weight. I get lots of compliments on it.

  9. Crappy wallet from Wal-mart or something

  10. Springfield Xds 3.3 in 9mm in a Crossbreed minituck
  • Love this pistol. Fun to shoot at the range and feels great in the hand. Well built, well balanced. So far, nearly 2k rounds in, no FTFs, no jams, no light strikes, nada. Trigger is a little stiff, but that kind of comes with the territory for a gun designed for CCW. I ordered the PRP trigger kit to lighten it a bit. Also, I’m probably going to have night sights installed soon. Nothing wrong with the stock ones, I just want night sights :).

Minituck holster is great. I hiked 10 miles in the White Mountains last weekend and hardly noticed this setup at all. Will most likely go with Crossbreed for future holsters. I can successfully tuck in a shirt around the gun if need be with this one. (I do not carry at work because my employer does not allow it)

>This one is pretty good too

It's 48mm. That's comically huge. Aesthetics are subjective but I'm finding it hard to find something inoffensive with that one.

Jackthreads is a pretty poor choice for buying a watch. All of those watches are cheap Chinese quartz watches; $129 for that one you linked is ridiculous.

Some good options:

Seiko 5, basic automatic Seiko.

Blue-ish Timex

Another Timex, I don't like the dial but at least it's not a ripoff

You can always change straps. There are thousands of different straps to choose from.

u/ehsu · 5 pointsr/malefashionadvice

I doubt you'll find anything that'll impress anyone in your price range. However, I think it's fair to want something a little more dressy and mature than Nixon.

Personally, I like the Seiko SNK793. It has that "this is a watch that my dad wore and he handed it down to me" feel. The blue dial makes it kind of unique and the price is right.

If you want to go dressier than that, you might want something with a leather strap. I think the Orient Bambino looks nice and could pass for something a lot more expensive at a distance, but it's $182 with their current promotion. That's a bit higher than your $100 limit, but I assume that's a pretty soft limit given your senior level position. Still, it's an order of magnitude less expensive than Rolex, etc.

Congrats on the new job, by the way!

For a miyota movement and a nice dial design it's not TERRIBLE, but you can do better and have one an established, reliable company for cheaper.

Of the two, the Akribos is in better taste by far, but it’s not a good brand or a very interesting watch.

Mechanical and automatic watches are much cooler, and get more respect from watch nerds. And Seiko 5s are pretty decent entry level automatics.

I have been looking into making that mod myself for a while now and I bookmarked the link to the site that makes those modded parts but it appears to be closed for the next two weeks (http://www.10watches.com/)

These watches are all slightly more than $50. Seiko is a reputable brand. The watches should be fairly durable, though not as reliable as something more expensive. All three are automatics and the first two have exhibition case backs so you can see the inner workings.

u/ZanXBal · 3 pointsr/Watches

That's beautiful I was thinking of getting this with a nice, brown leather strap.

u/Esti88 · 3 pointsr/Watches

This is my first watch and I don't want to spend over 200. I have really small wrists slightly over 6 cm around so I assume I should stick to a lower case size like 38 mm (?) Anyways here are the watches I'm currently looking at and would love some options from you veterans.

Watches I'm currently looking at:

Seiko snk793

Seiko skx013

Movado Museum

Skagen Mother of Pearl

Plan to use the watch everyday, so something casual but not too dressy as to the point that it looks like it doesn't belong.

Quickly looking through this sub I see that Seiko gets a lot of love and Skagen is labeled as a fashion brand. I think Skagen has the best design of the watches I listened then followed by the Movado because it's so clean. However, I don't know the quality of any of these products. I believe these are all automatic so I won't have to manually wind any of these, correct?

Edit: Wording

u/chaching37 · 3 pointsr/Watches

It's not the case that I care for OP or even Seiko for that matter. What I'm trying to see is whether or not you could reinforce your aforementioned statement that the Seiko 5 mov't is 'weak.'

Your earlier arguments were against the cases being of foiled base metal? Most of what I've looked at are fully stainless steel.

Please don't make the assumption that, because I'm arguing a point, I am forcibly against you in all manners. I'm just trying to see the rationale behind your earlier statements. Other than anecdotal evidence, I still have no reason to believe that the Seiko 5 is best used as an experiment watch? What truly makes it less likely of a candidate than a Vostok? Or as you've mentioned, the Sandoz?

u/Moxxibear · 3 pointsr/Watches

Seiko Men's SNK793 "Seiko 5" Stainless Steel Blue Dial Automatic Watch

Edit: what is the budget?

u/mseffner · 2 pointsr/Watches

Hey guys, I posted a few days ago for advice with buying my first ever watch. My new Seiko SNK793 just got here today and so far I love it, but I'm not a fan of the band (I don't like metal bands in general). I want to replace it with a leather band, but I'm not sure what exactly. According to the Amazon page, the watch uses a 18mm band.

What brands are best for good quality leather bands? Also, I don't know what color to get. The watch has a silver case with a very dark blue dial (almost black in average lighting), and I have pale white skin. This would be for everyday use. What colors would be appropriate?

I'd appreciate any advice or opinions.

u/astylishfox · 2 pointsr/Watches

Seiko makes several blue faced watches that are much more like the Tissot, such as this one or this one. Also, Bulova makes a great watch with a blue dial, this Accutron. I know you said $300, but if you want something really food, Hamilton makes [a Viewmatic](http://www.jomashop.com/hamilton-watch-h32505741.html?utm_source=googleproduct&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=googleproductsearch&pt_source=googleads&pt_medium=cpc&pt_campaign=(ROI).

u/red--jar · 2 pointsr/frugalmalefashion

Other than Seiko 5 you've got really slim pickings on your hands. If you're looking for something formal I'd say this: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/aw/d/B002SSUQF6/ref=pd_aw_lpo_241_bs_img_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=3G086RE1M3SZXAQD3SN0 - but in all honesty I'd say save up about $250 and then start looking. /R/watches is a great resource

u/ImADude13 · 2 pointsr/malefashionadvice

Alright - with all of those things considered...here is my advice. This Seiko 5 is well within your price range and can work in both casual and professional settings. I have one myself, and it's much better looking in person than in the stock photos. Additionally, at only 38mm wide and 11mm thick, it is quite small and won't look big on your wrist (I don't know your measurement, but you should be good). Now, you said you like leather - I suggest putting this hadley-roma strap on it. You may need a spring bar set to help you out, but it's really easy. These three purchases will still put you in at around $50 under budget and a sweet looking wrist piece. Also, if you're looking for what the final product will look like, here is mine with the exact same set up

u/CanadianHere-Sorry · 2 pointsr/Watches

I recently purchased the Seiko 5 SNK793. I had to immediately remove the cheap metal bracelet that it came with, and put it on CIVO's dark brown top grain leather with brown stitching quick release strap.

It's a really nice watch for what I paid ($65 + $29), I was able to grab it when the price dropped on Amazon, it's been bouncing around a lot the past couple weeks. And it satisfied a small hole that I had in my watch box of a classy dress watch. I like being able to wear it around with some khakis and a polo or jeans and a tee, it really goes with anything.

I love the 'sunburst-y' blue dial that really shines in the light, which pairs with the brown leather really well. Other than that, it's a dark face, and it works well with most things.

It is a bit small, I think I recall that the case size is only37mm, but for my smaller wrists, it wears really well.

Here's a bonus up-close shot of it, without my leg in the background.

u/Thedanieljk · 2 pointsr/TeenMFA

The first link doesn't work. Second one isn't really my type of watch. I prefer simpler watches over sports watches. I wear this Seiko 5 with a leather strap.

u/skipsmagee · 2 pointsr/Watches

From what I've seen, Stuhrling has a reputation of being sub-par, hyped, and inflated. For a quality yet budget-friendly dress watch, might I recommend the

  • Citizen Eco-Drive BM8240-03E, $100, with a black face and black leather band. Eco-Drives are solar-charged quartz and can run for months even in a sock drawer. They are reasonably durable, and I own several models. Or if you're set on a metal bracelet, you could try the

  • Seiko Solar SNE039, $90, also a solar-charged quartz;
  • Seiko 5 SNK793, $60, an automatic that charges by the movement on your wrist, but only stores enough power for 40 hours; or the
  • Seiko Kinetic SMY111, $120, which uses a swinging rotor like an automatic to charge a battery that runs a quartz movement. It has a longer power reserve than an automatic, and is probably worth the extra money than that Seiko 5 SNK793.

I'm not a fan of either. Budget watches that I would consider:

u/DoctorJohnZoidbergMD · 2 pointsr/Watches

Not to jerk too hard, but I feel like a Seiko 5 in this sort of style ticks most of the boxes: semi-classy, semi-casual, water resistant, pretty non-obtrusive fashion wise.

u/LightVoyager · 2 pointsr/Watches

I was earlier debating between two Seiko 5 watches. Either the Seiko SNK807 or the Seiko SNK793.

u/NAKED_AND_JAMESON · 2 pointsr/malefashionadvice

So, both of the watches you linked are described as "fashion brand" watches. This means that a popular clothing company has taken a pre-existing quartz movement (usually) then put it into a casing of their choosing and branded it. These watches generally won't break, but they are usually poorer quality than watches made by genuine watch brands at approximately the same price point.

Timex is a good starting point for watches. They look good, hold up well, and generally have very few issues. They're also fairly inexpensive. They typically use quartz movements. Quartz movements use circuit boards and batteries to operate the watch. They're accurate, but the cheapest method for creating a watch.

The second primary method for a operating a watch is automatic movements. These can either be hand-wound by the dial on the side of the watch, or they use a small weight in the watch to automatically (see: name) wind the watch as you move. As your arm moves, the weight spins around and winds up the watch. Automatic watches are more expensive generally, but usually also higher quality.

A good brand for automatic starter watches is Orient. They have a number of offerings in the ~$100-$150 price range that are very very good quality for the money you're paying.

Here are some specific recommendations for watches that are a great bang-for-buck ratio:

  1. Orient Mako II (automatic, $169, "dive watch" style).

  2. Orient Bambino (automatic, $159, "formal" style).
  3. Timex Weekender (quartz, $37, casual)

  4. Seiko 5 Automatic (automatic, $70, "formal" style).

Generally speaking, most watches from Timex, Seiko, and Orient are all great, quality starter watches. I personally own an Orient Mako II in pepsi, which I love. Feel free to PM or check out /r/watches for more information.

I am looking to get my dad a nice dress watch as a father's gift at my upcoming wedding. Due to the cost of the rest of the wedding I'd like to keep the price under $100. He doesn't wear a watch everyday, but he keeps commenting on my collection and how much he likes them. Three options I have come up with are:

Seiko SNK793: He has commented on liking my SNK795 before, and even with a nice leather strap this will be under $100.

Orient Symphony: Orient is my favorite brand, and I know my Dad would really get a kick out of me telling him that. Plus this is a nice watch.

Citizen Eco Drive AW1236--03A: I don't know a ton about Eco Drives but they seem like a great option for someone who doesn't wear a watch every day.

u/goatboy1970 · 2 pointsr/WatchShopping

edit: Well, no budget provided, so I'm going to guess it's around $100. If this is the case, you probably want to go with something more versatile than that Citizen you posted. That ends up being pretty casual with the canvas strap. I'd go for a metal band and a relatively simple face. An Orient Mako would be a great fit, and you could wear it with just about anything but a tux or an interview suit. A more formal Citizen or a Seiko would also be decent choices here. If you have a higher budget than this, it opens up some more interesting options.

u/Sporkfortuna · 2 pointsr/Watches

Third on the Seiko 5. I wish the crystal was a bit more durable, but for an Automatic that you can get around $65, it's a bargain.

This is mine, I found a good deal at a local jewler and I wear it as a beater.

Not too retro, but some of the other styles are more so and it looks great with a leather band.

u/scrapedknuckles · 2 pointsr/Watches

Looks like it might have been someone's regret purchase. It appears as if the seller copied the ads from about 2 different Indian sellers, and it looks like an Indian frankenwatch (the band is a giveaway).

Not that there's anything wrong with a Frankenwatch, I've got a HMT one (it was like 5 bucks), and it's been pretty good. But when this is the same price of a new Seiko 5, it seems a little pointless.

u/foozybear · 2 pointsr/Watches

I have the metal band one like this and it is ok. No experience with the Zulu style band on the one you linked. Still, a well made watch

u/thatirishguy · 1 pointr/Watches

The citizen you linked that you "settled on" is a cool watch, considered "military" / "pilot" style. I have a few military styled watches (also, I'm in the military and they really fit in uniform haha), and they do go well on NATO or ZULU straps.

They are a casual watch, and wouldn't really go with a suit. You could probably dress it up a bit with a leather strap to wear it with a suit though.

You mentioned you like Seiko, and something that's both casual and goes with a suit... here's my Seiko 5:

It's this watch on this band

The case is 38mm which is a good middle ground to fit on most wrists without seeming too big or small (most dive watches are 42mm+). The only stipulation is that if you want to follow fashion, you should mostly wear brown shoes/belt with a brown watch strap, and never black shoes or belt. Same vice/verse with a black watch strap.

u/polypeptide147 · 1 pointr/JapaneseWatches

this seiko 5 is a great watch. I have this one and wear it almost every day. I have small wrists and this looks great on them. It is dressy enough for when I wear a button down but also looks great with just some jeans and a t-shirt.

Whatever you get, please let us know!!

SNK789, for example

White is a wee bit formal though, and also maybe hard to go with other outfits.

How about black?

Hey, maybe you're feeling silly?

And it's not only the watch that determines the style of the set. Maybe you should think about perlons or bracelets for casual, or leather?

This Nomos was love at first sight. But as a college student, like some have said before, I am planning to get the Orient Mako soon or this Seiko 5. Really looking for an automatic with a blue dial, recommendations are welcomed.

u/Shadowhawk109 · 1 pointr/CFBOffTopic

/r/watches, /r/watchexchange (or whatever it's called), /r/frugalmalefashion all have excellent suggestions.

I have a Seiko 5 for fancy events, a Timex Weekender with a watch strap that reflects my college for casual/prep wear, and my current daily driver is my Moto 360.

u/TheFishBowler · 1 pointr/Watches

I'm looking into getting the Seiko SNK793, but not sure on the price. Looking at CamelCamelCamel it seems that it has risen in price a lot. Not sure if I should just pull the trigger or wait/try to find a new watch. Anyone have any suggestions on similar watches (blue face in particular)?

u/NetherTheWorlock · 1 pointr/Watches

I'm hoping I can get a recommendation on a blue dial watch. The three I've been looking at are the Seiko 5, the Orient Sentry, and the Citizen Blue Dial Automatic NH8350-83L. The only other watch I own is a Stuhrling skeleton watch which I wear on those rare occasions when I get dress up a bit more than normal. I'm looking for a bracelet style watch that would work with both casual and dress clothes.

Of the three the Orient looks to be the highest quality, as it has a sapphire crystal and I also prefer the date to day date of the other two. However, I like the dial the least of the three. I've only been able to find product shots and not anything more real world, so I'm not completely certain of it. On the other hand, the dial on the Citizen has great color and looks very elegant, but it's not an automatic and doesn't have an exhibition back. I'm concerned that manually winding it may prove annoying if I wear it on a regular basis. The Seiko seems be in the middle for aesthetics of the dial and overall quality.

Any suggestions or advice are welcome.

u/thechangbang · 1 pointr/malefashionadvice

Well, I wouldn't consider this or this a crowded face. Sorry if I was abrasive, you just didn't have the iirc in the parent comment.

u/zacheadams · 1 pointr/malefashionadvice

Timex Weekender - it's roughly that price everywhere else.

Seiko 5 automatic - there are a billion colorways and styles for it (only slight exaggeration)

EDIT: Did you mean the Vestal that OP posted? Seiko quartz is not worth it. A quartz is a quartz is a quartz unless it's got something the others don't, like Breitling's thermocompensated quartz.

Leather straps also can be very casual . I like the Bambino. It is the only automatic one in the watches you listed. Also, the Bambino does not come with a bracelet and with its 21mm lug width, it would be hard to find one. Seiko has some great options like this or this

u/BillieJean · 1 pointr/Watches

Haha, thanks. I found this and this just now. I feel like I saw these earlier when I was originally looking at Seiko 5s and just forgot about it, but I think it will do for now.

Part of me also wants a watch with a Nato strap because I occasionally handle corrosive solutions at work, so leather might not be the best idea for an every day watch. Stainless steel would probably be fine, though I have a feeling the band on the Seiko 5s is a little on the cheap side... either way, I think I will get one of those for now, and if I enjoy wearing a watch every day, I'll get a SARB for the special occasions :)

Automatic (it's got soul), display back, great movement with a good reputation, and way cheaper than you wanted. You can get it in a few different colors, as well.

Also, here is a whole section on Worn & Wound (a good watch blog) about quality watches under $100.

I really am glad to have this, it was this watch (in a different color) that sparked my interest in watches, and I'm glad I get to have the pleasure of owning this piece. I saw this a few months ago, which as well piqued my interest in this sub, and the wonderful world of watchmaking. After this I've been interested in the Seiko 5 SNK793 as a first automatic watch, something I can wear that's a bit dressier.

On a side note, it also seems to have gotten my mother interested, as right after I showed her the Seiko I'll be ordering, she went and ordered herself a Seiko 5 SNK803. So it's nice to pass on the interest.

I couldn't find the list, but these ones featured on it.

Seiko 5 SNK375K

Seiko 5 SNK793K1

Stuhrling 657.01

Orient Sun & Moon ET0T002S (This one is my next one for sure!)

Pulsar PU7005X1

Orient FER0200DW0 This one is very similar to my one, although I'm not sure if the colours just end up looking childish. Either way it's a beauty too.

You can get a pretty nice Seiko watch for $100. They're a 'real' watch brand not a fashion watch.

Something like this maybe? https://www.amazon.com/Seiko-SNK793-Automatic-Stainless-Steel/dp/B002SSUQF6/

What kind of style though? The fashion at the moment, if you're not a snob, is something like these, super-minimal:

or maybe look for a Skagan, pretty reputable brand and again, nice and subtle:

you can get Skagan in big places like Myer and David Jones, check them out in person.

I love the Tissot's, they are great quality and starting with a quartz watch is the way to go in my opinion, and if he wants to learn more about watches than he can start getting into automatics. I love how the Vinceros look, but they are fairly cheap chinese watches from a technical standpoint and their branding adds 100$ to their real price, so I would stay away from there, but as a starter watch it is quite nice looking.

Also, I love how these seiko's look, they have a metal bracelet, but it is much easier to buy leather straps than it is to find metal bracelets, so having both would be nice:

Cheapies like the dark blue SNK793 wear small.

Looking to get a new watch. I have a Samsung S2 classic and it just looks tacky with the band that it has. I'm going to get a new band for it, but I also want to expand and start a collection.

I want a nice, affordable watch that will look great on a brown leather NATO band.
This is what I've been looking at : Citizen Men's BM7100-59E https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004JKBEUM/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=PPVS3DXW0J9G&coliid=IGA2E46UICJEF

Seiko Men's SNK809 Seiko 5 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002SSUQFG/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pd_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=PPVS3DXW0J9G&coliid=I2PP7FGN84SUI

Seiko 5 Men's SNK793 Automatic Stainless Steel Watch with Blue Dial https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002SSUQF6/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=PPVS3DXW0J9G&coliid=ILBIE2U2GC6P9

Seiko SNN231P2 Chronograph Men's Black Dial https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003UBHXG0/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=PPVS3DXW0J9G&coliid=I2Z4C0XJ5GGBL

I've also been looking at the Timex Weekender and from I've read that isn't a bad choice for the price, but a lot of people say it can be loud. It is a simple watch, and that is what I really want though I do like the chronograph look and function.
If anyone has had any experiences with the watches I listed I'd love to hear or other suggestions that would be great. I'd just like something that will look nice on a leather nato. The price range I'm looking at is about $50-200 bucks.

Right now I'm just looking for casual watches to wear. My great-grandfather had a nice gold Caravelle that Id like to take off it's expanding bracelet and put on a simple black leather band if I need something somewhat classy-ish.

There was a post I saw the other night listing decent starter watches, I'm just having a hard time deciding. I just don't want to blow money on a mistake because I know next to nothing about watches and maybe there's something I'm not thinking of that someone more experienced than me could pass along to a noob.
Thanks for taking the time reading this and I appreciate any help given.

Hey, sorry i forgot, it is a SNK793, a little small on my wrist but i love it. Heres the amazon link. Seiko 5 Men's SNK793 Automatic Stainless Steel Watch with Blue Dial https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002SSUQF6/ref=cm_sw_r_other_awd_nk01wb4VK9VZK

u/dle7 · 1 pointr/Watches

What about this Seiko SNK793? It's $62.78 , automatic, and 36 mm in diameter. The only thing is the dial is blue. But I think that would look great with a gray suit! (A small highlight...haha though not sure if it's subtle enough).

u/CortexExport · 1 pointr/Watches

Help me find a $100 blue faced watch that uses a battery (not self-winding)

I basically want this, except with a battery

I hate resetting my watch every time I wear it

u/vanillamode · 1 pointr/Watches

That Seiko SGEH47 looks pretty good; sapphire crystal at that price point is a big plus

here are some other watches you can look at as well

u/Fishko63 · 1 pointr/Watches

Just wondering, would this still be safe on amazon here i checked you can take the braclet on this one. Looking to pair with this here or just a hadly roma from holdens

u/hurricanefalcon · 1 pointr/malefashionadvice

You won't find a good skeleton watch in that price range. If you do find one it may look nice, but more than likely it'll be very cheaply made and won't be built to last. For around 150 you have a ton of options. I'd recommend the

Seikon SKX007

or various Seiko 5's 1 2

Orient Mako, it comes in a variety of colors

Deep Blue makes a nice dive watch, this is the quartz version, the mechanical version is a little more expensive.

You can also look into homage watches like Alpha but these are lesser quality than the ones listed above. I'd stay away from brands like Invicta, Stuhrling, and even something like Skagen. If you're going to shell out $150 might as well get your money's worth.

u/Moeller5963 · 1 pointr/Watches

I'm thinking about buying the Seiko snk793, and I was wondering if a watch like this would go well with a NATO strap.

u/RetailWarrior · 1 pointr/Watches

I know I just posted the other shot yesterday but I couldn't help but post this again in my work clothes since it goes so well. I seem to be checking the time a lot more often with this on my wrist. It's definitely an option I'd recommend for anyone looking for a classy looking watch on a budget.

It is sold out right now but able to be picked up for $60 USD at Jomashop or $100 on Amazon

[Edit] Added some words...

u/MyFaceOnTheInternet · 1 pointr/malefashionadvice

This seiko is a nice automatic with a blue face

I like this one more but cant find on a metal band

That is an easy fix though, I put mine on a nice leather band. So it looks like This

u/Csusmatt · 1 pointr/frugalmalefashion

Funny. I bought this one and then bought my dad the snk793 and it's GORGEOUS. The blue face looks waaaaay better than the pictures on Amazon, I was really impressed.
