If you don't need a mic why not go with the Sennheiser HD 599. Audio quality would be better, however it's wired.

I am not sure what headphones to get right now for more casual listening . I have a budget of ~$100 and already have a dragonfly red amp and a pair of ATH-m50x. The headphones I am looking at are:

V Moda Crossfade Wireless

Sennheiser HD 599 SE

Audio-Technica ATH-AD700X

Philips Fidelio X2HR

They have a black version too, along with the cream version. I have the black 598 SE myself as I'm not a fan of the cream color. The 599 is the upgrade to the 598 and are said to have even better sound. They're super comfortable and can be worn for 10+ hours with no problems. They're not really 'made from plastic', they just have some plastic on it, like the vast majority of headphones. I can think of very few headphones that don't have plastic on some part of them. I don't know what other material you expect them to be made out of but they're lightweight and comfortable and most importantly, super durable and the highest quality open-back headphones you'll get for under $200 so that's what should matter most about the construction. If you only care about how it looks, then you're going to be disappointed and end up with shitty headphones. There are plenty of 'good looking' headphones that sound like garbage.

Do you mind using open back headphones? Open back headphones mean that there is no cover between the outer ear cups and the drivers (speakers.) That means a natural sound, with the drawback meaning sound bleed. If you’re using them at home, and won’t mind sound bleed, check out an open back headphones.

With that said, I’d recommend the Sennheiser HD 599. They’re on sale for $100 on Amazon (for the black SE) and sound amazing for that price. Way better than those Logitech. They are also super comfortable.

I owned both the M50x and the HD 599 and eventually ended up selling my m50x's due to the 599 being more comfortable for wearing long periods of time.

On amazon the HD599 run for $150. They are a slightly bass boosted version of the HD598 and are O]open back (unlike the closed back m50x) so you get that sound stage your looking for where it seems like the sound is coming from around you vs from the actual headphone.. Ive used them for PUBG and are great for sound whoring same for COD:MW! Also a huge edm guy and these things are really nice for house, dubstep anything really even rock or hip hop, The bass is definitely there.

You could take a look at HD 599 SE, there was a sale ($130 instead of $200) on Amazon but it ended yesterday. You would have to wait for the price to drop again, possibly $100 on Black Friday.

Link to product.

If you just want good headphones for gaming and don't want to have to invest in additional gear like a DAC or headphone amp, just get the Sennheiser HD 599. I have the HD 598's and they're fantastic. Also quite popular in the gaming community. A lot of streamers either use them or have used them. They are open back though - so they will leak sound.

As for a mic, the Antlion ModMic would be my recommendation. If you don't want to spend that much, just get something cheap like this until you're ready to upgrade. I used that for years and it served me well.

I'll have to test my Pro's for those things like Harmonic distortion, I have never noticed anything wrong with them.
Maybe I just haven't used a good headset, who knows.

Speaking of good headsets, would this one be a good choice?

Or do you have any recommendations for headphones /headset that are wired and have a similar 'feel' to the Pros (in that it's comfortable and doesn't let outside noise interfere?)
