Shiseido Senka UV Sunscreen SPF50+ is the best sunscreen I've ever used! Super affordable and prime shipping offered. It leaves no white cast, doesn't dry my skin out, doesn't clog my pores, and leaves my skin with a very nice subtle glow. I'm on my 3rd bottle!

u/100thUsernameAttempt · 5 pointsr/AsianBeauty

I use Shiseido Senka (orange tube), which is great for me, but some people don't like the silicone in it.

I also use the Nivea body sunscreen, which I proved to myself works very well after taking a 3-mile walk on the beach. I could definitely see where I didn't apply it...

Edit: Shiseido & Nivea links (Amazon)

Hey! Intermediate ABer here, and I've tried about 5 Asian sunscreens. I also have moderate rosacea (erythema and papules) as well as eczema. Fun times! :P

/r/asianbeauty doesn't really have a good grasp of the needs of rosaceans (haha?), unfortunately. Gotta use info from here and there to figure out what's good for your skin.

It is broad spectrum with an 85SPF. It sounds like some of the asian sunscreens might be better for my situation since apparently its UVA which causes dark spots and aging? I was thinking of something like this.

whelp - i'll tell you i recently went to curology for this exact reason. Im on hormonal BC and it gets a majority of it but not all....after researching - and since i use an anti-aging routine anyhow - i decided to give curology a try and this is my first month that i've gone through my cycle - nearly pimple free...had a little red mark show up on my neck (that's where my acne comes - chin and neck) but that was it - a MARKED improvement. My script is

– azelaic acid 4% (antibacterial; reduces redness, hyperpigmentation and blocked pores)

– clindamycin 1% (antibacterial and anti-inflammatory)

– niacinamide 4% (a form of vitamin B3 that fights inflammation and hyperpigmentation)

$20 a month. I dropped all other product save for cleanser (cerave hydrating), lotion - (Cerave PM (for both am and pm use)) and sunscreen seishiedo Senka anti aging with Q10

I will eventually add my vitamin C back in bc i loved what it did for my skin. But overall i will be saving money on product and getting better results on the acne end. If the Azelaic acid doesn't do as well as the glycol 10% i was using i can always add that back in.

It just made sense for me....just throwing it out there.

I am super addicted to sunscreen so I use several. After I moisturize in the morning I use Sheseido SPF 50, it is a liquid and is super smooth and feels like a great supplement to my moisturizer:

Shiseido Senka Aging Care UV... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00O6DXICO?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

I just ordered some canmake mermaid gel though, it seems very popular.

I’ve also really fallen in love with bare minerals spf stick, its reminds me of a stick of deodorant but it’s tiny and is easy to carry around, and I just swipe it over my cheeks, nose and forehead very two hours

Bare Republic Mineral Sport SPF 50 Sunscreen Stick (.5 oz) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B072813NK8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_u8XBCbN9E37BV

They have a tinted stick, but I didn’t choose it. The white cast is pretty severe upon application but it rubs in nicely.

I can't speak to any of these, but I did a quick Amazon search, and here are some (both Western and AB) watery chemical sunscreens I found in your price range with Prime shipping:

u/veronicaxrowena · 1 pointr/AsianBeauty

Hello AB lovers,

I’ve recently been trying out a different sunscreen, Shiseido Senka Aging Care UV Sunscreen SPF50+ PA++++ and I just learned that it is marketed as an “indoor” sunscreen.

I spend quite a bit of time out on my balcony (although it is 3/4 enclosed). Being that the balcony is sheltered, and that I do apply every two hours, will this sunscreen be enough? Or do I need something more suited for outdoor use?

I don’t sweat or get oily or anything, I just sit out under the shade of the balcony daily and want to know if my SPF suffices.

Thanks!

If you can order on Amazon, I'd look at some of the Japanese/Korean sunscreens. Examples: Skin Aqua moisture milk, Shiseido Senka, or Biore Aqua rich.

u/RandomRedditor25 · 1 pointr/AsianBeauty

Not sure about getting samples, but the Biore Watery Essence is very popular on here for people with normal to oily skin. I have lots of friends that use this, and most of them wear makeup.

I personally use the Shinseido Senka Aging Care, and find it dries matte and works very well under makeup. However, I have dry skin, so it might not be a good fit for you. It's more moisturizing than the Biore, and takes a bit more time to dry down matte.

They make more lotion based sunscreens that rub in better and are less sticky. They're often marketed as "everyday" or "non-greasy" sunscreens. I also found a moisturizer with broad spectrum SPF 30 in it. It's WAY nicer than normal sunscreen and works just as well. You can find it at CVS/Target. Finally, I haven't tried any yet, but it seems many Japanese sunscreens have a nicer feel and are better for your skin. I've been considering this one.

u/queenjaneapprox · 1 pointr/SkincareAddiction

I really like the Shiseido Senka Aging Care which is SPF 50 and PA++++. It goes on feeling really creamy and moisturizing whereas I've found a lot of Asian sunscreens are really light and watery because of the alcohol. But, it does dry down matte enough that I can use it with oily skin. Plus it's on prime and pretty cheap.

Mad props on being so proactive! I see people outside working all the time and I can tell they aren't using sunscreen. Where I live currently in Iowa, farmers are always at my derm's office getting things removed OR bring diagnosed with melanoma.
If your face is dry an hour after washing it, it could be because you're not using moisturizer. Try adding waste your riser and then once it dries, apply your sunscreen. Or hopefully you can find a sunscreen that has a moisturizer in it. Cervae AM is nice and light.
I have extremely sensitive skin and it's also dry and this is my favorite non-tinted sunscreen right now. Isehan Mommy UV Aqua Milk 50g https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MZF5JY7/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_wBM.BbS2S9DKW

If you're willing to give the chemical sunscreens I try, this one is very good. Shiseido Senka Aging Care UV Sunscreen SPF50+ PA++++ (Pack of 2) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00O6DXICO/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_sCM.Bb9R64Y10

I'm not sure if you have sensitive skin. It sounds like you have combination skin, but the dryness could just be because you're not using a moisturizer.
If you get really in the afternoon, wipe your face down with a wet paper towels and reapply your sunscreen.
Hope this helps!
If neither one of these sunscreens appeal to you, I have other recommendations, but I gave you three options to start you off. All budget friendly. ;)
Tell your SO that they are lucky to have a guy who is protecting his skin! :)

With physical sunblock containing zinc, it's gonna happen. With the US-approved reactive sunscreens, they also react with many soaps and turn red instead of white. I second the suggestion for Biore sunscreens from Japan. I used the Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence for my face and their slightly cheaper Watery Gel for my tattoos. No zinc to white cast and none of the reef-killing reactives to ruin my clothes in the wash. They can be found on Amazon or eBay, sometimes with two day shipping and sometimes with month-long shopping.
