At the very least, whatever effects smoking may have on health are greatly exaggerated, but most are made up out of thin air and complete bull$#!t, like second hand smoke.

Don’t take my word for it, start reading up on the facts of the original surgeon general report, the Doll and Hill study in Britain, German studies (in the Nazi regime). Do you know where the number of smoking related deaths come from? A computer called SAMMEC which is fed data and uses statistical correlation to spit out an arbitrary number. There are no death certificates where the cause is smoking.

I used to believe all the warnings, but started reading into it more over the last 15 years. You will be astounded at the amount of misinformation and lies that are passed off as truth, and parroted every day. I’m not saying smoking is healthy (though there are clearly some health benefits to smoking and nicotine), but I don’t believe it is anywhere near as dangerous as you are led to believe...

This is a good book to start with, though if you are interested, there are quite a few more books and resources worth exploring.
