Reddit mentions of Something Coming

Past life dream. Ok, I dreamed I am at a restaurant sitting at a table with a man who devours spaghetti one strand at a time. Another man is there, very thin, doesn't really do anything. Then a waitress comes to the table. She starts talking slowly and deliberately and I get impatient. I'm born under the sign of gemini and my mind moves like a hummingbird. So in the dream I get impatient with the waitress. Just get to the point!!!

Then she says, well, you're getting mad just like you did last time I tried to tell you about your past life. Her statement stops me cold. It's like someone is about to tell you where the secret treasure is buried -- I really want to hear what she has to say. I mumble an apology and she then tells me the name from a past life. Boom. I wake up.

...And promptly forget the name. It was sorta familiar and sorta not. It slipped down into the memory hole like a scared rabbit.

For the next few days I kept returning in my mind to where I left off. I'd remember the name and instantly forget it. It happened a few more times over the next couple of weeks. One time I was in the shower and ran out dripping wet to find a pen and paper. Picked up the pen...and forgot the name.

So finally one day it comes to me and I hear it like a trumpet blast in my mind. It's a name still used today but it was pronounced differently long ago when I lived that life. That's why I couldn't keep hold of it in my mind.

It sounds like "Dar-ROOS!"

That was like 16 years ago and since then I've had two more distinct experiences of remembering details of past lives. Both of them involve the same life. In one experience I was actually pulled into a scene to observe something that happened. In another experience I pulled up a name into my mind that I then investigated. Both times the memories came up during meditation.

After the first experience I investigated the name and ended up writing a novel based in part on what I learned. It was the spark that lit a powder keg of creativity. Something Coming. It only sold a few hundred copies and it's only so-so, but it gave me the practice I needed to advance enough in my craft to get a publishing contract. So that dream I had literally changed my life.
