Am I right to assume you used the case while operating the camera (video 1)?

As long as you know the camera won't fall in a puddle, lake, pond, river or the ocean I would suggest to use it without the case with the "Sony AKAHLP1" lens protector (to protect it from stones which might hit the lense while driving).

That would give you better audio quality and less sun-flare.

Also how was the temperature? The second video looks like the case fogged up or was dirty. For that you can use a anti-fog-insert.

Inside the car (like in video 3) you can use it without the case with the black rail which came with the camera.

The quality as you see it here will hold up under "real-world" circumstances.

I personally use the software mentioned in the sidebar. It supports all the files from the SACs and many other cameras and allow useful things like "lens-correction" and 50Mbps video output in different formats.

I am not quite sure what mount you used, but the mount combined with the camera beeing inside the case is the reason for the quality of the audio.

For vehicular filming I always recommend using a second camera or audio recorder mounted on the helmet or seat of the driver.
