No worries! So yes, in that case the Rokinon 12mm f2 is one of the most-recommended wide-angle lenses since you get wide and fast for a pretty low price, with the downside that it's manual focus only (not too bad since wide-angle lenses tend to have a lot more depth of field, plus you can use focus peaking to assist).
Another potential option is to grab a Sony 16mm f2.8 and use their VCL-ECU2 0.75x wide-angle converter which will convert the 16mm to a 12mm. The obvious benefit to that is you retain electronic information, aperture control, autofocus, and have "both" a 12mm and 16mm lens in your bag, but you'll likely lose some image quality from the converter.
Edit: Looks like you can get the converter for cheaper on KEH, it would save you ~$40.
Great explanation, thanks!!
It really helped a lot. I'm also looking for some good lens for panoramic views (like at the top of a mountain or something), as well as a fisheye lens (don't judge). The two I'm looking at are adapters for a 20mm prime lens I think.
I'm wondering your thoughts on them?

I have an A6000 and 99% of the time the 20mm F2.8 prime pancake lens is stuck to it: https://www.amazon.com/Sony-SEL-20F28-Mount-Prime-Fixed/dp/B00B20OYUO It's a great general purpose lens that works well in almost all lighting situations. The 20mm focal length on the crop sensor turns into an equivalent of a 33mm focal length which is great for capturing what your eyes see, like landscapes and vistas. When you need to zoom in, walk forward. :) The size and weight of the lens are perfect too, you really can't find anything smaller or lighter. The whole camera is only slightly bigger than a point and shoot.
edit: I haven't used it but this lens also has the option to snap on a teleconverter to make it even wider: https://www.amazon.com/Sony-VCLECU2-Converter-SEL16F28-SEL20F28/dp/B00U7HQSLQ/ I think I remember reading reviews where folks liked the quality of the shots with it.
