Moleskins are pretty bad for gouache. Your best bets will be a watercolor paper, minimum 110lb, but you'll get better effects with 140lb paper.
If you like having notebooks instead of loose paper:
Watercolor sketchbook with 110lb cold press paper
Watercolor spiralbound sketchbook with 140lb cold press paper
Strathmore watercolor sketchbook 140 lb cold press paper
I've used mixed media paper for watercolors, but I try to avoid anything less than 100lb cold press for watercolor or gouache, cuz the paper will buckle and won't handle the paint.
I've got this little water color book I've been doing them on. My process is that I'll start with a sketch in my shektchbook, and then do a very light trace in my water color book. Afterwards, I'd start painting in the book.
I saw this post and it got me to use water colors in my own Hobonichi. The Tomoe River Paper works great, especially for small doodles.
I also use Strathmore but it's a full size notebook and another handy version, not A5.
I had this same question a few months back. Ive found that any paper with higer gsm is better and 100% cotton is also a major plus. My current top 3:
