If you don't use it often, don't bother trying to save the glue, and instead get multiple smaller tubes of glue like this
Fuck this, I can just order that online
I am prepper and a FIL, here are some things I can never have enough of...
Your FIL will be thrilled that you support his prepping no matter what you decide to give him!
I do the following: glue magnets onto the bottom of the model's base then store the model in the cake ban with the lid on. This can usually transport everything except the largest monters (Flyrants, Mawlocs, Trygon). Then all you need is a luggage bag or some other way to care the pans as you walk/drive.

I actually just used cheap superglue with a thin tip like this. Mine snapped where the turbine attaches to her belt and I just dabbed a bit on both sides and held the ends together for a good minute or two to confirm it sticks. I did the process fairly quickly too because the glue dried somewhat fast. Hope that helps!
I don't think OP deemed so many people are utterly hopeless in math.
Here, take this. Apply lavishly on your fragile and shattered ego.
That's excellent! And I would not get any officially branded model glue unless you are doing Games Workshop models for which they make a specific plastic glue that kinda "welds" the plastic.
I just buy whatever cyanoacrylate (super glue usually has this) is available. This is actually a good deal on amazon https://www.amazon.com/Super-Glue-15187-12-Pack/dp/B000LGPD64/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?s=industrial&ie=UTF8&qid=1536324938&sr=1-2-spons&keywords=super%2Bglue&th=1
If you find you want it thicker they have a gel too:

Can't imagine any branded glue would be worth it otherwise. It's all just the same chemical formula except the GW stuff (which has the sad side effect of not working on anything else at all).
Super glue will cover that wound and your skin will heal. This brand... https://www.amazon.com/Super-Glue-15187-12-Pack/dp/B000LGPD64/ref=sr_1_5?s=industrial&ie=UTF8&qid=1539746461&sr=1-5&keywords=superglue
