I too prefer slides to thongs/flipflops so went on a search for the 'right' ones over the last year or so. I have a pair of the eva foam birkenstocks linked above, those are nice and very light BUT they are very bulky/don't fold down well. Very comfy though, good arch support.

Best I've found though are these...they will go well with your socks :D Seriously though they are comfy and fold down much more FLAT than anything else I see linked here. These are what I carry now. The only drawback is weight; they are not nearly as light as some of the others. Worth the extra few ounces IMHO.
