Looking back on my experiences as a relatively new manager, one piece of advice I can give is that you should take the time to sit down with your employee to see what kind of projects she's working on and how you can support her as her supervisor. Meet with her on a regular basis (or as your schedule permits) since this will help with keeping the lines of communication open.
