I think those are a great resource especially if you want to cover the full range of electronics. but there is a lot of material there, but it's spread over 22 modules and it's somewhat navy specific and slightly dated. The OP mentioned he's already familiar with electronics.

Don't know if OP is in the US or not. However, I think the ARRL manuals, while they cost $$ will give the desired result of a curated course in radio topics. He could probably read all 3 books in a week or 2 or 3.

Plus there is the benefits of learning the US bands and practices and getting a license so you can transmit.

These manuals are somewhat oriented to the exam, but they cover broad topics and genuinely attempt to teach you the content. Rather then just prepare you to memorize and pass a multiple choice test.
