This is an intriguing question. One point that I would like to contribute is the trend towards making computers disappear. This is in stark contrast to transhumanist artwork like /r/futureporn and /r/cyberpunk that emphasize technology. As a culture, we want to shy away from things like this. Even more subtle things like Google Glass is way too much. The transhumanist movement will take on much more quickly if we blend the technology into our environment.
