Except the government legal system doesn't do any of that. For example, a rich white kid caught with a vial of cocaine will be treated drastically different than if he were a poor, black kid. Or consider that a wealthy investment banker can steal millions, get caught, and serve a few months of time, whereas a poor person steals $100 and gets a 15 year sentence.
Or consider how differently cops are treated compared to ordinary citizens when both commit the exact same crime.
Universal and equal treatment indeed.
