In 2016, I began fighting for my life. Since then, I have been battling with a debilitating illness and struggling, with the help of family and friends, to survive. I managed to hold it together just long enough to go to, and record, this Brand New/Modest Mouse show, but was hospitalized about 24 hours later and spent most of the summer in the hospital.
I'm okay. I'm surviving. I'm making small steps. I published a book of haiku a few years ago. Today I'm meeting with someone who may be able to greatly improve my quality of life. I'm hopeful, which isn't something I've been very often in the past few years. That's why I'm sharing this now.
