I love the color scheme and the overall 60's style - it's definitely something that I think will stand out since most tend to stick to primary colors or "well used" color schemes.

The treatment of the type is a little too directionless for me so it just doesn't read well as a whole and really does show how rushed this was. Each new line seem to angle a different way that doesn't necessarily correspond with the graphic and it just doesn't visually lay right.

You've got some text that's being forced to go at a certain angle (such as the "AND" being completely vertical with the tops and bottoms of the letters forced to conform to the shape) while some text conforms with the shape of the character (e.g. "times" curved across the shape of what would be her face) and some that does neither and just arches out of place for no apparent reason (e.g. the "times" across the body.)

I think it would be very helpful to develop a cohesive direction and style for the type so it doesn't just seem slapped on and warped various ways to fill the shape. As previous commenters have said, it's usually really difficult to successfully warp existing typefaces unless you really know what you're doing and this piece leaves me with the impression that you still have a lot to learn when it comes to typography.

If you're going for a 60s appeal, try looking at some 60s album covers or posters for typographic inspiration. Looking at old school design, especially with hand-done typography can really help you find the right style for the look you're going for.

I would also highly recommend The Fundamentals of Typography by Gavin Ambrose and Paul Harris. It goes over a lot of great aspects that I think would really help you like type hierarchies, how to kern properly, etc.

Good luck, OP!

Ahhh these type exercises bring back fond memories! Typography can be a difficult thing to learn and teach because there is never one answer to a problem. Just learn the few things you shouldn't do and rock out with the rest. It is a skill that has a feel to it and the only way to develop an eye for it is to just practice and observe. I will dig out some of my work of similar projects and share.

Here are some of my favorite reads from back in day.
