Spagyry is more or less Paracelsian flim-flam that came about as 'holier than thou' medicine at the time. While the practice and principal remains the same, it is, culturally-speaking, a deeply Christianized and also bastardized means of alchemy in terms of scientific pursuits in the observations of nature.

Frater Albertus champions it, and in this day and age it is enormously cheaper than doing ye olde work with metals. The principal is similar in terms of sweating pipe and the process itself.
