Like I said, if you're wanting something that you know going in isn't going to be serious, you'll enjoy yourself. I haven't been on a ghost tour myself, but friends of mine have and it's somewhat spooky historical facts mixed with a little embellishment. I personally don't believe in ghosts so I have a hard time believing somewhere is truly haunted. I think people enjoy that embellishment mixed with the creepiness of the history here, and that's why you have such a large ghost/cemetery/vampire/haunted tourism industry.
Instead? I mean I really wouldn't know. You can visit several of the haunted places yourself like Madame John's Legacy (free), the Jimani is a bar that originally housed the Upstairs Bar where a fire killed dozens of gay men (also fascinating reading is the response to the fire), and the Pharmacy Museum is pretty dope but I think it's $10 to get in?
This book also used to sell pretty well when I worked at Barnes and Noble for people who liked creepy history etc.
