Nothing is going to approach the Brotherhood of a worthy college Chapter, because none of the adult societies are premised on a Pledge Class process to spark Bonding.

The masons are centered around escalating rituals that supposedly inculcate life lessons - but all of them are basically men's clubs. If there is a particular group in your city where all the powerbrokers belong, then membership there might be good for your career and social life - but it's not Brotherhood.

I was raised Christian and have read the bible front to back, and I don't remember this being mentioned anywhere, nor have I read it in any supplementary or secular source. In a nutshell, and if you'll pardon my choice of words, this is clearly something that was pulled out of someone's ass in yet another attempt to justify the grotesquely immoral "commandments" of a supposed "perfect" and "loving" god.

Let's get one thing perfectly straight: the bible belonged to one culture, and one culture only, and that culture is dead and gone. It should serve not as a rulebook by which we act, but as a reminder of how not to act. In the end, it is the sad legacy of a superstitious desert tribe, and nothing more.

Masons never said that the word of a man is of no value, in fact they believe the exact opposite. As for the oath to god it's kind of complicated and I cannot explain it without telling you things about our rituals that are secret. Well they are on the internet, but I swore not to discuss them with non masons on pain of a real nasty death. Since I am a man of my word I won't discuss it. I will say for a bunch of Jesus believers there are some pretty strange rituals. As far as your bible quote. as anything it is one quote in the bible and the masons *(most of them, for we have religious nuts too) to use your head when interpreting the bible.
