I've experienced some haunting and here are my thoughts in no particular order:

  1. What you say about feeling anger is really concerning. I'd be on the lookout for feelings that aren't yours. It doesn't necessarily mean that the ghost is trying to possess you, but as a precaution I wouldn't get drunk or high at your house for awhile since that can leave you in a vulnerable state. If you generally feel like you feel the emotions of others you may have a psychic sensitivity and I recommend wearing a small mirror facing outward, either on a pendant or in your pocket. You can also do 'clearing' exercises, where you ask the universe/God/whatever name you give a general force of goodness, to clear your body, clear your mind, clear your soul, and clear your aura. Think of it as a meditative and calming ritual. You can do it whenever and as often as you like. You can also ask the universe to fill yourself and your house with protective white light.

  2. Spirits can get energy from water, which is why taps turning on like yours is one sign of a haunting. Tying your faucet down at night might help.

  3. /u/RicottaPuffs recommended spraying sea salt in your corners. I think this is a good idea. I've put bowls of salt in the corners of my rooms during hauntings and it's helped tremendously.

  4. So this comes from having read Echo Bodine's book "The Little Book of True Ghost Stories" about her time as a ghost hunter in Minnesota. She recommends telling the ghost to leave and go to the light, and (I know this sounds bizarre) asking "The Squadron" for help, as they are a group of spirits who used to be ghosts and are willing to help other ghosts let go of their earthly attachments. My feeling is, why not? There's no harm in asking for help from them, and/or from God, and/or from the universe, your spirit guardians, whatever is out there. It will help you. I mean, you've got a ghost, shit's already weird.

  5. More on Echo Bodine, the book I linked above has a chapter on getting rid of a ghost. I can't find my copy at the moment to copy down the essential points, but did find a Q&A she did where people asked some questions about hauntings.

  6. I don't blame you for being scared and stressed. Private message me if you want to talk over the phone and just have someone listen who knows you're not making it up, and can walk you through some of the calming techniques I mentioned above. Good luck.
