How old are you? How long have you been training? The two things that advance performance the most are training and maturity. For training, you need to sprint a few times a week, focusing on proper biomechanics. Time yourself regularly over your training distances, but don’t feel the need to run at maximum speed at all times. It maybe a good idea only to sprint at full speed on your best days. In the weight room, build stiffness and explosive strength with plyometrics, eccentric exercises, and ballistic exercises. It is likely that athletes need more protein than non athletes. If you carry more fat than necessary, a caloric deficit with high protein intake will help maintain muscle mass while losing fat.
