I swear, if everyone saw this documentary, the entire United States would be a different place.

I've actually been on both sides of the story, so hopefully my input is somewhat helpful. I was once the girlfriend who broke up with guys for pot, then eventually became the girl who couldn't possibly convince her (now ex) boyfriend to smoke, no matter what.

One of my exes pressured me hardcore until finally I gave in and tried it, but it wasn't a good experience. Because I was so reluctant, I felt spiteful and angry the entire time. I didn't have fun and wasn't able to enjoy myself based on the context of the situation. A few weeks later, I ended up trying it again with some friends and a different ex (with whom I had previously broken up, because he smoked weed) and because it was my timing and my idea, I actually had fun with my friends and slowly became a regular toker.

The more your SO knows about weed, the better. If I had been educated earlier about how OK weed is, it wouldn't have taken me so long to come around. With that logic, education was the approach I used with my most recent ex (the one who wouldn't smoke). I straight-up showed him The Union, an amazing and informative documentary, which I recommend every ent watch. Additionally, we had philosophical conversations about how legality does not dictate morality, that is to say, just because something is against the law doesn't mean it's wrong (keeping in mind that things like integration were once illegal). Turns out, he had some traumatic experiences with drugs when he was younger (usage in the family), and there was a strong emotional link to his disapproval. He forbade me from trees altogether, but I went along with it, thinking I could eventually change his mind. I was wrong, very wrong. A year and a half later, we finally parted ways.

Some relationships do work out where one smokes and another doesn't. But having been on both sides of the situation, I don't recommend it. Weed had saved me from my suicidality and panic attacks, and returning to that just to please him was a living hell. The most ironic thing is: he said I had "changed" and refused to put together that he liked me when I smoked and hated me when I didn't, even though I directly pointed it out.

TL;DR: Pressure is bad, very bad. Education is good, but it guarantees nothing. Can you maintain your integrity when you give up a part of yourself just to please someone else?

< in-fact were still about 200k in the hole, so it defiantly wasn't the money.

Trees, we need to help him out. This documentary is too important to let it's creator suffer the burden.

Any person that watches The Union: The Business Behind Getting High and still doesn't think weed should be legal... should probably be removed from society for being stupid.
