It's still worth it if you are willing to exchange the HDD for an SSD and insert 8 GB RAM or better yet 16 GB RAM. With the original HDD and 4 GB RAM it will be slow of course, you can significantly speed it up with those upgrades. Battery is also easily exchangeable. That being said, the machine weighs 2.06 kg, which is quite hefty for a 13" laptop these days.

In terms of macOS support, it can run both the current macOS 10.14 Mojave and the upcoming macOS 10.15 Catalina. Catalina is guaranteed to receive security updates until autumn 2022, so you should be good for quite some time even if Apple should decide to drop the machine from support with macOS 10.16 next year.

In the following, I'll attach hints regarding which RAM and SSDs are compatible.

The MacBook Pro 2012 supports up to 16 GB RAM (2 x 8 GB RAM modules). It has two RAM slots, meaning two RAM modules in total will fit in. A higher total amount than 16 GB RAM won't work due to a limitation in the logic board.

You need RAM which matches the following specification:

PC3-12800 DDR3 1600 MHz, 204-pin

Here are some examples of RAM modules that work flawlessly in the MBP 2012:

Fellas, I want decent laptop for schoolwork, editing (adobe after affects), and minimal gaming like CSGO, (I won't run 2 things at once) would this $330 laptop be enough? 8th Gen i5-8130U, ("Up to 3.4Ghz"), 6GB 6GB DDR3 SDRAM Ram, (Dual Channel), If not, what if I replace its 6gb ram with this 16GB 2x8GB ram? Im not sure if that ram is actually compatible with it but it seems like it. I will also sell my Nintendo Switch + 2 Games + 2 2GB Micro SD Cards + GripCase IF I have to for $400. Please tell me any suggestions, what this laptop alone can/can't do, and what the combo can do. ALSO, im an amateur, I don't know a lot of pc stuff yet. Also, (sorry) whats the difference between DDR3 SDRAM and DRR4?

Ram brand matters little and ram speed matters very little on intel systems so perhaps this https://www.amazon.com/Timetec-1600MHz-PC3L-12800-Unbuffered-SODIMM/dp/B0145WDNF2

You don't need any DDR 4 RAM to play games which are commonly released these days it's a nice to have but absolutely not necessary especially for gaming.

Your build is quite good even for today. The only thing that i would change is the RAM you have buy 2 x 8GB DD3 Sticks and dont forget to compare the mhz . In your Case you need 1600Mhz Ram Sticks like these:

These are quite expensive maybe you find some with a lower price.

And maybe you invest in some SSD to speed up your PC and your games but the rest is fine in my opinion.
