In two years you won't see the need for a i7-6700K. The i5 will have almost the same performance, especially when overclocked, for 100€ less.
Alternative cooler – the H7 is fine as well, but a bit expensive over here
Cheaper mainboard without any drawbacks
cheaper ram, equally fast
Cheaper and faster SSD
Alternative case suggestion, isolated
* The psu is on the same level

this is a little over budget but not much, does give you some more space than what you can buy for under 50, it's just slower though.

So either you get 120/128gb of decent speed or you get 240/248gb of slightly lower speed

I'm not sure the availability of OCZ drives in Italy, but I've had the trion 150 for like half a year now and it has served me great. I don't know how the speed compares to the 850 evo , but it's still miles ahead of a mechanical drive and it'll save you about 30 euro.

I am thinking of building a PC at the end of this month. Should I start buying parts now? This SSD 240gb on amazon is pretty good right now. Is it a safe bet to buy it at this price and wait to build or should I just hold off?

u/Rumpadunk · 2 pointsr/buildapc

Yeah, I wouldn't get that SSD or that HDD. 120GB is too small and you will run out of room just from appdata quickly, and especially if you want any games on there. You can get a 2TB drive for literally $3 more, and Hitachi has better drive failure rates.

https://www.amazon.com/HITACHI-0F10311-2-0TB-3-0Gb-Buffer/dp/B002WGH2QK?ie=UTF8&tag=austin101123-20 - HDD

SSD - Uh.. I mean, you can get a cheap one that's still pretty good for like $60 https://www.amazon.com/OCZ-Storage-Solutions-Internal-TRN150-25SAT3-240G/dp/B01B4NUKMY?ie=UTF8&tag=austin101123-20 Or you can get a better one or a 480GB one but I don't see a good deal on it now.

You could also get the same SSD but just the 240/480GB version for $100/155, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?item=N82E16820147372 240GB version, https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-850-EVO-2-5-Inch-MZ-75E120B/dp/B00OAJ5N6I?ie=UTF8&tag=austin101123-20 480GB version, but looking at the specs the only difference between the 850 and the OCZ is faster random write speed on the samsung.

E: $100 480GB drive isn't that bad, probably not worth checking all the time for the next week to get one for $80/90. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820228143 - same kinda OCZ drive.

I just bought a used one for $315. Definitely cheaper than building yourself. I'm adding an SSD https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01B4NUKMY/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
and a GTX 750 TI SC (~$125) I got for $90 off ebay. You could do a GTX 950 75w (~$130) or an RX 460 (~$125) without upgrading the power supply.

ok here is the OCZ Storage Solutions Trion 150 Series 240GB its within your budget.

I am working on a new build and looking to add an SSD. Is it worth the extra to go with the Samsung 850 Evo? I'm looking for around 250GB of storage. Or I'm looking at getting the OCZ trion 150 series, 240GB for ~$25 less. Is the extra $25 for the Evo going to give me a noticeable speed difference?

Ok so I changed to a ASUS ATX MoBo
(https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B017E0MA8S/ref=ox_sc_act_title_4?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER)

as well as changed to the EVGA G2. Also found a SSD for a decent price and will get this over the WD. Does it seem decent? Its not listed on PCPARTpicker

Yeah you can get 240-256GB SSD's for $70-100 (just checked from Amazon), IMO that's not bad anymore. Of course it's still a bit expensive if compared to the size of mechanical HDD's but the speed improvement is really worth the money.

I'll never use a mechanical as an OS drive again. I have a 256GB SSD for Windows and some programs, then 500GB mechanical for rest of the programs and games and 3TB mechanical for other data.

EDIT: Here is a 240GB one for $59.99 and here is a 480 GB one for $107.50, they have read/write speeds of 550/520.

It would be great to have SSD's with those prices here in Finland too. The cheapest 480GB costs 129 euros which is 144.93 in USD. $107.50 is only 95,68 euros.

Both will do what you want it to do. The MSI mini-PC would be great for hooking up to a TV. In fact you can actually mount it to the back of the TV and forget about it. If you think you might get a graphics card later on so you can do some actual gaming on it, get the top one.

Also you can spend a bit more and get 240GB SSDs.

For the upgradeable PC

For the non-upgradeable one

I think the 240GB would be worth it. They are faster, will last longer and 120GB is not enough storage if you want to store a lot of files or games.

How are the reads/writes of this compared to the OCZ on sale right now?
