I bought a Denon AVR-1513 from Denon's Refurbsihed Site, 1yr warranty for $140
I got the Micca Motion Series MB42 for $50 but they are now sold out.

So I spent $200 (with speaker wire) for a 2.0 set-up.

I then bought Fluance AVSC Center Channel Speaker for $80. Picked up some old JVC bookshelves for rears from goodwill for $10. Speaker Stand for $40

So I spent $330 for a 5.0 system. I am really happy with it so far. I am not audiophile, but Olympus Has Fallen sounded awesome last night.

I bet a new bottle of Jack would help you make a decision.

At $300 you'll be looking at a 2.0 setup. With $500 you'll have more to play with.

  • 2.0 Level 1 Less than $300 - Orb Booster $135 & either Pioneer BS-22 or Micca MB42X $90. I would get stands to go with them. You'll need some speaker wire and an optical cable if you don't already have one.

  • 2.0 Level 2 $350 - Orb Booster $135 & either Boston CS26 $105 ea, EMPTek R5Bi $225 or ELAC B5. You'll get a much better sound again I would consider stands to get them to the correct height and away from the TV a bit.

  • 2.0 Level 3 $500 - Same amp & KEF Q100 bookshelfs $300 (on sale).

  • 2.1 Level 1 $400 - same setup just add a Dayton Sub 800 $100 & a sub cable to hook it to the map. This sub is quite small so if you have a larger room you might want to upgrade to the Sub 1200 $150.

  • 2.1 Level 2 $500 - add in one of the subs from above to the Level 2 speakers. This should give you a nice system with a good overall sound. The upgraded speakers should blend very nicely with the sub.

You just want to find a set that gets the tweeters up to the right height. If your desk is 30" you probably want 32-34"+ stands. Sanus has quite a few in that range. OR you can look at these adjustable stands.

So, these aren't the prettiest in the world, but they've worked wonders for me, are super durable, and even run cables up through the stand.

Upgrading the Modi wouldn't, but upgrading the Magni would - the Magni 2 Uber has a pre-amp output.
Essentially this just passes the input from your Modi through the Magni's volume control without amplifying it, when there's no headphones connected. With headphones connected of course, the input is amplified and sent to them. Again, the pre-out is RCA so the same cables as above if you chose that. Bear in mind this only works with either speakers or headphones at once, if you want to output to both at once you'd want a simple RCA splitter.

Again, neither is necessary since the Windows volume control is an option, but it's much easier.

RE speaker stands: Mostly comes down to preference and their looks. These are inexpensive and should fit / be strong enough for the LSR308.

Component order should look like this:

Computer -> Modi -> Sys -> Speakers OR Magni
Optional Second Source ^

If you're regularly swapping between the two, you could connect both at once using a splitter or switch box. Otherwise, those cables look good.

Looks like they went up in price.

They're $50 now, here's the link: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000VRREPG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_O1hJBb076TVVE

They are nice because you can tilt them downwards to get a better listening angle. I have a solid wood desk so make sure your desk can handle the weight since you're already running 3 monitors.

They sit on the table but the feet are very sturdy and I bump into my desk occasionally and they have yet to fall.

I also have the subwoofer you're talking about, it's pretty good for the price. I got it for $80 when they were running a deal a while back. It bumps pretty loudly.

u/Dalisaur · 3 pointsr/vinyl

So here's the story.

So I had that shitty Sony PSLX300USB USB Stereo Turntable for the longest time and boy was the setup I had terrible. About a month ago, you would have seen that Sony plugged into a Bose Soundlink. Yikes.

For Christmas, my step dad was awesome enough to gift me some brand new Martin Logan LX16's. After talking about upgrading my setup for a good while, I decided now was the perfect time since I had finally got some really nice passive speakers.

So I started looking at mini amps that could power these pretty efficient speakers. I found the SMSL AD18 and ordered it right away. It was small, powerful enough for my small apartment, and came packed with features.

After getting all of this in my place, my girlfriend recommended that I finally replace the Sony TT that I've been complaining about for the last year so I used a few Guitar Center gift cards that I had to pick up the black AT-LP120 for around $100.

I then came across these cheap but sturdy enough speaker stands on craigslist list for $20 here they are.

I finally got all of this setup and I couldn't be happier. I threw on The Ooz and started drooling. It's all such an upgrade for me. I noticed the felt slip mat that AT provides doesn't sit quite flat and I hear they suck anyways so I'll probably snag a rubber platter mat and call it good. Couldn't be happier.

u/FtotheReady · 2 pointsr/vinyl

I got these because i liked them looking thinner than the SANUS ones. But that's also because all i was threading through it was thin speaker wire. If you're going to have a power cord also through it might be a bit more difficult.

u/tweedyrug · 2 pointsr/battlestations

These things. $40 stand, $500 speakers haha. They aren't bad for no more than they cost; get the job done. However these speakers are pretty big for them so they'll probably be replaced eventually. They're just fine for smaller speakers though. They were great for the Micca's I had on them before.

No worries :) Glad to help - I definitely know what it's like.

Back in November 2017, I decided to totally upgrade my home entertainment (called it an early Christmas present to myself heh). Initially, I was very pleased with the LG OLED's "Atmos" sound output. What made me consider getting a soundbar/beefier sound system was when my TV, using its own speakers, kept making me think people were talking outside. Like I kept pausing the movie thinking I was hearing people outside - but nope. It was the TV. I was beaming, letting out stunned laugher now and then, reflecting on the realization. I thought, "Surely if these little TV-bound speakers are capable of that, a way more capable sound system would elevate things" (and I was right - it super did).

But man was I confused at first when trying to wrap my head around the way everything connected, why/how, etc. I hemmed and hawed for weeks, reading everything I could about soundbars, etc. before finally landing on something.

The most surprising thing was just how much the 4K OLED made everything else around it need an upgrade. So I totally get it - I think it's wise to save up until you can make a great purchase on that TV.

K850 vs K950

This is going to be down to personal preference. The general consensus is that the K850 is typically not sold for much less than "great deals" ($700~) on the K950. In other words, if you can snag the 950 for roughly the cost of the 850 - definitely go for it. The 850 (more specifically, Samsung's Multiroom app) does support adding speakers later - but they are limited to stereo replication and not true, additional rears.

You mention placement being an issue - and I totally get that, as it was a challenge for me at first as well. My entertainment center is in a 3-wall, flat-ceiling space. Seating is directly opposing the TV, approximately 6.5 feet away. Everything is on a low profile shelf, with the TV mounted to the shelf, and K950 sitting atop the shelf (under the TV). This places the forward-firing tweeters of the soundbar (i.e. the speaker grill) a bit below ear level, but I turned up their levels (and treble) to account for it. As for the rears, I eventually bought speaker stands (here) and placed them at either end of my couch, with the forward-firing tweeters pointing inward at the seats (picture the speakers pointing at your ears, basically).

For 5.1 content (i.e. non-Atmos), the system handles everything pleasantly. That said, the rears do draw less power when not engaged in Atmos - resulting in what some claim to be a "weaker" sound. This is typically due to folks sometimes forgetting (or not realizing) that rears are not intended for full soundstage replication - as if you'd be hearing every effect/etc. from the rears. Instead, they are intended for supplemental / spacial sound projection. I can hear someone picking up boost or attempting to demo me from behind in Rocket League on the PS4 Pro, or a helicopter whizzing by from left to right, behind me, when watching some movie or whatever on the Xbox One X. I'm happy.

Now then - when Atmos is engaged? I seriously felt exhausted after watching the club sequence in John Wick. Like my face felt assaulted lol. It was awesome.

I don't have any experience with the K850, though I did have a 2-channel soundbar prior to this on my previous TV and it was very adequate. I didn't know what I was missing. I suspect this will be much the same for you with the K850 (should you choose to go that route). It's still going to fire forward and upward (reflecting off your, hopefully flat, ceiling). It will likely sound lightyears better than what you have now - and from your perspective, that will likely be amazing and "the best you've heard". And that's good! When the time is right, upgrading further (and recouping some of the cost by selling the K850, again should you choose to buy it) will be an enjoyable experience.

Meanwhile, here's some "light" reading from the AVSForums K850/K950 Owners Thread. I say "light" because, well, it's 129 pages as of this post - and it'll likely be 135~ sometime by this coming weekend. I've participated in there somewhere around page 80-110 so BOLO (as I've answered/asked questions you'll likely have).

DTS:X

So DTS:X is simply DTS' answer to Dolby's Atmos. It's gaining momentum, but not as fast as DTS would like. Do I think you'll miss out? No. I'm certainly not. That said, the rumor is that DTS:X support is, in fact, coming to K850/K950 via firmware update (though likely by way of a DD+ container - so not true DTS:X - but we'll see).

Read more about DTS:X here and see a list of current/upcoming DTS:X titles here.

>Why do you suggest no carpet?

A few reasons, but mainly cause they get dirty and smell. People trip on them and in a small/high-use area it's going to look old fast. Also, many people think its good for winter, but with modern heating this isn't an issue.

> engineered hardwood which apparently gets damaged quickly.

Well, yes and no. It does get damaged more quickly than hardwood floors and you really only can sand it back once before you expose the cheap crappy timber under the veneer. But it is still very durable. In fact I've had a rental, wasn't meant to be a rental when I put the stuff down. But after one year of my use and 8 years of tenants. Sure, it's looking a little tired. But nothing that isnt part of wear and tear and it's yet to be sanded once. With tenants!!!

>speakers without an entertainment cupboard?

I've got these, https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000VRREPG and they work great. Also, consider getting a projector. I'm currently in a space which is a foot or so wider than yours. Hung a projector and project onto the painted wall. I've got an tiny entertainment unit - cause I'm dumb. But I wish I had of put all the electronics into a always empty cupboard and used something like this - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00OVAPS3Y. It just keeps everything out of the way and allows you to live your life.

Looking at the photos, my space is a fair bit wider, but it all would work and allow you to enjoy the space more.

Alright, for your $300 I have:
Mount - $45

Receiver - Denon 530T from Accessories4Less - $130

Speakers - Pair of Daytons from the buying guide - $55

Stands - Set that has decent reviews and should be sturdy enough - $40

That leaves you a $30 buffer for sales tax and to buy speaker wire. Continue to save up until you can buy a subwoofer.

Here's what I picked up based on the Zeos 2.0 recommendation thread.

  • Speakers - Fluance SX6
  • DAC - SMSL SD793-II
  • Amp - SMSL SA50 50Wx2

Here's what it looks like setup at my desk - LINK

After installing and setting up Equalizer APO on my system and tuning it by ear through a WIDE assortment of music, this setup sounds absolutely amazing. With the amp and Windows at half volume, it's loud enough to be heard throughout my 2-story house with no audible distortion.

Near-field performance at my desk, where my head it at the peak of basically an equilateral triangle based on where I sit in relation to the speakers, is absolutely astonishing.

I use this setup for games, music, and audio editing for video work I do. It's awesome all-around.

Throw a pair of stands in there like these and it's right at your $300 budget.

Just out of curiosity, why do you want the sub on the desk?

If it was me, I would get those speakers on some small stands and raised up slightly (or even on some floor stands like these ( https://www.amazon.com/VideoSecu-Adjustable-Height-Satellite-Speaker/dp/B000VRREPG ).
Moving the speakers to floor stands would free up space on the desk for a second monitor as well.

For the second monitor I would think about getting a mount for them as well (but that's easy enough to pick up after the fact).

Do some cable management and tuck the sub away in the corner.

u/oldcarfreddy · 1 pointr/vinyl

I'd say use stands if you don't have a higher surface to place them on that isn't the same surface as your turntable.

Unfortunately a lot of cheap stands are ugly. These were the best ones on Amazon I found that don't have awful reviews; they're sold out from Amazon but they were $40 shipped with Amazon Prime when I bought them a while ago. They're adjustable, grip the sides of the speakers and seem sturdy enough. Kinda ugly though. Most of the solid-post-type stands on Amazon seemed to get bad reviews about dents and build quality or were more expensive.

Another option is DIY - looking online you see a lot of setups using post-style stands, but if you don't need a lot of height I think the hairpin leg style looks nicer. I loved these on reddit.

I agree with /u/sharkamino that vintage will get you some incredible bang for buck, especially for speakers and receivers. Turntables too, though because they have moving and replaceable parts you may have some more research and work to do on TTs.

u/Madvillains · 1 pointr/battlestations

Amazon, I wouldnt recommend them for carpet unless you can get some weights to support the base.

Another thing is, I couldn't screw in the A5s because there are no screws on the side, I just tightened it down like a vice-grip. I will add some velcro and secure it this weekend.

The BIC I ordered is actually a center, so I would need L/R's for it to replace the Monoprice. Someone on AVSForum.com recommended the Bic center + Sony Core for the L/R, saying it had a similar sound and was good for HT.

I think I have a TV stand figured out to raise the TV and speaker stands to get the speakers off the TV stand they are on now. Just need to pick out new speaker wire so they will reach the receiver. I went with cheap AmazonBasics 16 Gauge for the Monoprice. Is 16 gauge good enough for these speakers?

Another week another newbie question. So, me and the Mrs are considering some of these for record cubes for record storage, the initial idea being to stack them as the collection grows and warrants it.

My question is this: I'm also considering speakers on these stands so that I can play with the height. We've had the idea of placing the speakers on top of these. I wouldn't think this affect the sound quality, would it? And if so are there any steps I can take to prevent that?

The cubes: https://www.etsy.com/listing/292187875/vinyl-record-storage-cube-stackable-lp?ref=market

It's for a bedroom. I thought I could get away with a small sound bar and picked up the Polk Audio Magnifi Mini. For $200, it's pretty great. But I watch a lot of Netflix comedies over and over...like Friends. The crossover is crazy high because I hear constant puffs and woofs for all kinds of sounds. It's very distracting. They tend to wobble a lot, so if you have any pets or kids that might bump into them, take that into consideration. Even on hardwood floor, I never really felt confident they wouldn't tip over with a slight nudge.

u/budlightguy · 1 pointr/EliteDangerous

Well, not a desk mount, but I'm giving these a try:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000VRREPG

I already had some plywood pieces cut for mounting my X-55 to from a previous mount system that no longer works with my setup. They'll now be used as an interface between the x-55 and the stands. I'll be able to move them out of the way as needed, adjust the height and positioning easily if I change desks or get a new chair or anything.

These: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000VRREPG?cache=f79f904fb0d9df3d020c4daf563a750c#ref=mp_s_a_1_3&qid=1393863122&sr=8-3

Though mine are from 2009 and don't have the clamps unfortunately so I used some bluetac material to hold them in place and isolate them a bit from the stands.

I think your best option would be to figure out how much you are willing to spend total and put most of that to your speakers first. The speakers you choose will make the most difference in sound quality and you may even find a set that has decent enough bass that you may feel you don't need a sub until you have more money down the road. I hear THESE speaker stands are great for $40.

Once you have your speaker decided upon, pick up a receiver or amp that can power them. There are many great options out there that you can find for cheap that will power most speakers just fine. First check around through your local classifieds or Goodwill for that before looking for a new one. I bought my Sony receiver for $5 at my local Goodwill and it has been working great for the last year I have had it.

If you have any money left after those, pick up a powered sub. From all the reviews I have read online and watched on YouTube, I have never seen subs reviewed more than the ones from Dayton Audio. You can get the Dayton SUB-800 for $100, the SUB-1000 for $120 or the SUB-1200 for $150 on Amazon. The SUB-1200 will give you the most bang for your buck in a living room setup.

Had a pair of Philips Fidelio X1, heard they were amazing so I bought a pair for 220$ and they were very blah. So I sold them on eBay and I decided to treat myself to sound System upgrade instead of dropping another 200+ on cans. I have had a pair of creative 2.1 speakers and they sound awesome but I know for a few 100$ I can get some pretty next level speakers here's what I plan on upgrading to:

u/Unknown___Member · 1 pointr/hometheater

I have used these stands https://www.amazon.com/VideoSecu-Adjustable-Height-Satellite-Speaker/dp/B000VRREPG
With those speakers.

They can grip the bottom of the speaker very well, so they don't fall off. However as we live in a world of physics, the whole stand can tip over as a unit if pushed. I'd say there's about 6 inches of give in any direction though. Small bumps aren't an issue.

funny, I sold some just like this a couple years ago when I decided not to do 5.1 anymore...and here I am back at it again full circle.

u/Zic05 · 1 pointr/audiophile

So basically. I start to get into high-end audio, I was originally going to get a Micca OriGain and RB42's with Dayton SUB-800 (Was waiting for restock). Then I find a bunch of nice stuff in my mom's garage (Onkyo TX-NR609 and an RCA-RTD3133 (speakers and sub only)). Now I have/setting up a 7.1 Surround Sound System. I want to add some Micaa RB42's as my front L/R speakers, Micca RB42-C as my center channel speaker, and the remaining 4 RCA speakers as my surround speaker L/R and back speaker L/R (I will upgrade the RCA speakers over time to nicer ones), using these speaker stands. Here are some of my questions/problems

  1. Is this the right setup microphone for my receiver? and, will it smooth out all the different speakers?
  2. My receiver is plugged into my PC through HDMI, so will it use my PC's DAC or my receivers? Also, a 3rd monitor shows up when I plug in my receiver (I have 2 monitors), is this normal?
  3. Which subwoofer? Dayton Audio Sub-800 or Monoprice 12" 150W. The room is only 14x12ft, so Is a larger subwoofer even necessary? Also, I don't really want to spend more than $150 on a subwoofer.
  4. On page 6 of the Onkyo RX-NR609's manual, it says • 100 Watts/Channel @ 8 ohms (FTC) • 160 Watts/Channel @ 6 ohms (IEC) • 175 Watts/Channel @ 6 ohms (JEITA). What does all this mean, is there a way to switch the ohms or wattage? because my RTD3133 speakers say 6 Ω on the back. I already have 2 RTD3133 connected to the TX-NR609 and everything is working fine, but I don't want to blow the speakers out (will the setup microphone set the wattage and ohms to each speaker accordingly?)
  5. What banana plugs and cables do you guys recommend?
  6. What are your recommendations? What should I change/add?

Max budget is $500USD, I would prefer to buy most of the stuff of amazon or using PayPal.

    Thanks

I bought these stands a couple years ago and have never had an issue with them. They fit right into your budget and height.

u/sonsofaureus · 1 pointr/AskBattlestations

>My concern would be the ease at which they adjust. If the stands are somewhere less than accessible, or are difficult to adjust, it would defeat the point of this use case.

Usually with stereo or surround sound speakers/woofers, they have an ideal position relative to the listener.

The challenge is usually with getting the wires and power to those position to allow ideal placement. Once there, there isn't a great need to fiddle with the speaker position too much afterwards.

I think it's more important that a speaker stand/mount be sturdy and stable than be easily adjustable. IMO, just something that'll let you place the speakers at the right distance from you at the right height, and maybe help manage wires would do.

If you have walls (and you're able to drill into those walls), speaker wall mounts are an affordable option.
If you have space around your desk, a speaker stand is a good way to go also.

Otherwise, if you have the room, you can add drawers/file cabinets to the sides of your desk to extend your desktop a bit, or get a bigger desk like you mentioned.

I would also suggest picking up some speaker wires.

Should I have any foam between the stand and the speakers?

Also how far do you guys suggest that the speakers be from the wall, corner, and myself when listening. I need to reconfigure my office to best facilitate sound quality.

$40 on amazon. They're like a 7/10. I wouldn't be comfortable putting speakers any bigger on them

u/homeboi808 · 1 pointr/hometheater

Way too much money for that type of speakers. Almost the same as buying the damn HTD Level Three bookshelves (these need distance to sound good, so not recommended if really close to your ears)..

You could also get the Kanto Ben’s for $160 (many color options). Scratch that they are 4ohm (so might not work with your reciever), and they can’t even handle 50W.

These stands would work. There are of course many others.

Other options are the $200 Fluance Signature bookshelves, the $230 Wavecrests, or the $250 Cambridge Audio Aero 2’s.

u/victorescu · 1 pointr/BudgetAudiophile

Yeah for $190 that sounded like a good L/R/C set and I would have decent resale value.

Moved the Miccas back to my computer. I left my old monoprice 10565 surrounds up just cause they are small, easy to drive and have decent mids. Might switch to Micca covo-s just so i can put my monoprice 10565 surround set up for sale. I was tempted to keep the set since they are such good affordable speakers but honestly if I ever need speakers for a guest room or something i'll probably just get a good 2.0 or 2.1 instead.

I like having surrounds a foot above listening position, so 40-45 inches and don't want to drill walls cause I am renting so didn't have a convenient way to use Miccas as surrounds. So need something that can work with my current speaker stands (which the covo-s do) or might mod these to make them more stable and allow me to put larger surrounds like the Pioneer bookshelfs.

Thanks for all the replies. Alot of options that I am leaning on. For reference Ill take a pic of the office chair I have its similar to the below similar handle bars:

https://www.amazon.com/HON-Validate-Tall-Executive-Chair/dp/B005ZC69VM

No need to take a pic of the couch as its just a couch

Interesting enough as per the pvc idea I was randomly googling and stumbled upon some adjustable speaker stands like the below that may work also. what do you guys think?

I also was researching racing wheel stands as it is harder to find flight stick rigs and stumbled upon these that may also work I guess:

Maybe the better rig and cheaper with center stick possibility

As for the JPien I checked it out but not sure if I can buy 2x of those to stick on my office chair if that work, is it possible? Guessing the center piece can go where the leg strut is maybe to fit between the legs?

Alternatively that ikea laptop stand looks really really good and a small price also. Im thinking maybe can buy 2x and use my office chair and set 1x up on the left side and the other in the center of the chair

Alot of options to run with here I suppose tough choice what to aim for

I'm going to be receiving my pair of Philharmonic AA+'s monitors and realized I didn't have any stands to put them on. So I went scouring online and found a couple that peaked my interest, but wanted to come here for some possible last minute advise. Now I'm not sure if your expertise is limited to headphones, and IEM's directly or if it expended to Monitors and home theater setups as well. I'm currently using a Sprout100 as my integrated amp which are powering my Meze 99 Classic's which I have some to really like. I can wear them for hours and they just do not get fatiguing both to my ear or my head. In the back I have a BIC America F12 12-Inch 475-Watt Front Firing Powered Subwoofer, and will also have these Affordable Accuracy Plus Monitors.

Now that you know what I am working with. I am looking for some stands to hold those monitors. But IDEALLY I'd like to have stands that I can adjust for both close and far range listening. Raising the stands up while I'm sitting closer at my computer, and then lowering them to be ear level while sitting farther back on my couch. I love the sturdiness of the following stands, but they are not adjustable: Atlantic 77335799 Speaker Stands & Sanus NF36B 36" Natural Foundations Speaker Stand. One the opposite side of the spectrum, I'm not too fond of the construction of these stands but the adjust-ability of them seems very very nice: VideoSecu 2 Heavy duty PA DJ Club Adjustable Height Satellite Speaker Stand

Do you know if there is something out there that has the best of both worlds?

u/AJCxZ0 · 1 pointr/BudgetAudiophile

I don't have any particular recommendations for speaker stands. Choices depend on your floor, how well protected from collisions the stands and speakers will be (including from cable yanks) and how you want to attach your speakers to them - if at all. Something like this might work for you.

I was going to mention suction cups, but I see the speaker are rear ported, so you want to keep them away from the glass. There are the suspension options...

This is how I keep my computer speakers off the desk, but that won't help you.

The tv stand of the bookshelves?

The tv stand is an insignia tv stand from Bestbuy that’s rated for only a 55 inch but it’s rated for up to 115 lb and fits for the mounting holes on newer TVs. The speaker stands are from Amazon. Pretty cheap and very adjustable.

u/my_shoes_hurt · 1 pointr/Zeos

That thing between the bookshelf and the TV stand is a section of the wall that sticks out which is an access point for the house's main water valve. It sticks out about 6" and comes from the ceiling to about 3' down the wall. Nonetheless something can certainly be put underneath or in front of it. I will look into getting some speaker stands for the fronts to get them above the couch line and near center line with the display.

I will likely be sticking with the Onkyo receiver for a plethora of other reasons I won't bore you with. However, I've re-evaluated based on your feedback, had a chat with the purse strings, and we decided to go in deeper on the speakers, alotting a grand or so for the speaker setup. My speculative setup is now looking like the following options:

Sub: SVS SB1000 (~$500)

Front: BIC America FH-65B (~$200) or Klipsch RB-41 (~$300)

Center: BIC America FH6-LCR (~$100) or Klipsch RC-42 II (~$250)

Rears: A bit trickier, there is only about 7" clearance between the ceiling and the doorjamb for that one rear, as the room has a pretty low ceiling (7'5"). Therefore, of your suggested models it looks like the best option for that door position would be the Klipsch S10 (~$200), which has a height of 5.6" and should fit nicely.

Does this sound like a happier set of options than my first draft? My temptation is to go for all the Klipsch options because I love the aesthetics of them, but if I would be better served in the eargasm department by the slightly larger (and less expensive) BICs for front and center, I will go that route.

Let me know what you think, and thanks a ton for your advice. It is very comforting getting direct feedback from someone who knows what they're about in this area!

Hi all, looking for speaker stands to support my JBL LSR308 speakers. Need these to be as inexpensive as possible (would prefer something in the $40-60 range; can't spend over $75). Was looking at these but the reviews made it seem like they were only really fit for smaller bookshelf speakers, so if anyone has another recommendation to make it'd be much appreciated.

For reference, the JBLs weigh 10 lbs each and measure at 16.5" x 10" x 12.1" (H x W x D).

u/shithawks_circling · 0 pointsr/hometheater

I have these speakers and these stands. I'm sure there's better out there, but for $120, these are nice enough compact bookshelf speakers and adjustable height stands that work well for me. I have them paired with considerably nicer fronts and sub, and am quite happy with the overall sound.

u/wataqo · 0 pointsr/audiophile

Can't speak from experience, but I was looking at those on amazon today and one of the reviews recommended these which are $40 if you have Prime.
